I just wanted to post some more images of the exhibit at Greenfield Village this Memorial Day weekend. Some of the beautiful dresses and accessories belong to either Pam Yockey, K Krewer, Susan Hughes, Brian Koenig or Carolann Schmitt. It is a wonderful thing to be asked to exhibit my items along with theirs for the public to enjoy. Thank you all for your participation in the historical clothing exhibit.

Sitting here looking out my front window, I am reflecting on the past year and looking forward to the New Year. My visit with Beth Fausell Tart was WAY too short, and I am missing her already. Thankfully she and Ben made it back home to NC safely. Some of the things that are in the works from us at Past Reflections, are some new patterns and some new ideas to try. We hope you all have a safe and happy New Year and we look forward to seeing everyone at MHF, Kzoo gun show, Greenfield Village and many other upcoming events.

Civil War Digital Digest

Thank you to William Eichler, Jeremy Bevard & Felicia Konrad for asking us to contribute to another wonderful episode of the Civil War Digital Digest!

It’s time for the second installment of the women’s sleeve type series! What is a closed sleeve? We answer this with a table of original dresses and many detailed photographs of these dresses. Near the end, we get to see a great original dress that was modified from an open to a closed sleeve type.

It is with great sadness that I inform our friends and customers of the passing of a great lady and friend, Betty Loba. She had a stroke several weeks ago and did not recover from it. Gayle Simmons will let me know the details of any and all memorial services being planned for the Gettysburg and Michigan area.

More civilian episodes are on the way! We shot four episodes with Jackie Jacobs last Sunday. Here she talks with Jeremy about the many uses for aprons during the Civil War era.

Good morning from the great white north of Michigan! These past few week have been very busy for me, as I start sorting through all my boxes of originals to put together items I intend to use for several lectures and Civil War Digital Digest film sessions. I am so excited and honored that Will Eichler and Jeremy Beavard have asked us to provide our expertise in their collection of YouTube videos. Then on to prepping for MHF in Chicago area in Feb. So many things to prepare for..... The season is coming, really it is, despite the snow on the ground. Happy Sewing and Research Epiphanies.
