Tejano R.O.O.T.S. Hall of Fame and Museum The Tejano R.O.O.T.S. Hall of Fame is the official hall of fame for Tejano music as designated by House Bill 1019 & signed into law by Gov. Rick Perry on May 3, 2001. It is located in Alice, TX.
Tejano ROOTS was established on June 9, 1999 to honor and preserve Tejano music and culture.

Received word that La Onda has lost another great singer, Joe Ramos. He was best known for his work with los grandes, Tony de la Rosa and Conjunto Bernal. Our prayers go out to his family and friends.


Javier "JV" Villanueva Information: A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice, Texas. Burial to follow at New Collins Cemetery.


Just got word that we have lost one of the biggest supporters of Tejano ROOTS, our former CEO, Javier Villanueva. Through his unceasing hard work, Tejano music is alive and well. Que en paz descansa, JV.

Last weekend I had the privilege of attending the 18th Annual Class of 2017 Induction Ceremony of the 'Tejano R.O.O.T.S. Hall of Fame' Special Recognition Awards. Lorie Maldonado is the First Woman to receive her Award in the Sound Engineer Category. Congratulations Primita Lorie !!!
