TomMac Garrett Ceramics

TomMac Garrett Ceramics Reduction Fired Stoneware and Porcelain functional pottery. My work is wheel thrown pottery where I I make work that i would want to live with, and to use.

I don't make sets of production pottery, but each piece is one of a kind. But they do seem to work well with others pots scattered about. With every piece i pass on a blessing of quality food, and good spirit be passed from the work of pottery to the spirit of the company.

Join us at our April meeting at the Columbia Art Center (1227 Taylor St), Tuesday, April 21st at 6:30PM, and hear from our scheduled speaker, TomMac Garrett Ceramics !

TomMac Garrett is a full time functional wheel thrower who wholesales, has a technical background in ceramic materials, and is experienced with kiln building. His current work is based on his experience over the last 30 years of rural farm life in South Carolina. In those years, he has experimented and focused on all processes of pottery making stages, using cone 6 and 10 porcelain and stoneware, and majolica.

What have I been doing? Living- one day at a time. I finally finished some special orders this weekend. Not all have been delivered, but as far as the studio, I can now clean it. As soon as my hose thaws. I spent the day keeping the wood stove going. I have always loved watching flames. Probably why I got into pottery. Stay warm my friends. .
