FROM FIELD TO FINE ART
Living in Arizona for over 26 years, I discovered gourds, “the art of the southwest.” I attended a gourd festival in San Diego, Ca. and found these raw beauties. Their buttery skin and wood like texture presented a unique canvas just waiting to be explored. After taking some lessons from well known gourd artisits in Arizona and California, I was hooked.
Recently, I returned to Western Massachusetts, Agawam, and have participated in many fine art juried shows.
I teach at my studio in Agawam. Come and enjoy a fun and tranquil day. Let out your creative inner spirit!
I also lecture on the history, culture and art of gourds. Learn how gourds were used in many cultures as musical insturments, storage, religious ceremonies and today as fine art. This is a great lecture for garden clubs, art clubs and retirement centers.
