Westport Winery and the Roberts family have added another luxury lodging component to their already diversified offerings. Westport Winery Desert Retreat is the family’s new vacation home in Bullhead City, Arizona, across the Colorado River from Laughlin, Nevada.

This luxury home is in the gated neighborhood of Majestic View at Fox Creek. It is 90 minutes from the Las Vegas Airport. Situated high on the hills above the river, the home features expansive views of the desert with a fenced yard filled with palm trees. This is a dog-friendly home and there are several nearby dog parks. From the patio you will see coyotes, road runners, rabbits and quail.

The layout features an open concept living area perfect for vacationers with a large living room, dining room and gourmet kitchen. The living area has a wall of windows with a view to the custom swimming pool, hot tub and waterfall. Inside, there is a gas fireplace and a big screen television. The dining table is perfect for groups of six for everything from holiday meals to games to crafts.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all major appliances, dinnerware, cooking and baking pans, small appliances (rice cooker to waffle iron), and the basics in spices. Plus, there is an outdoor kitchen with a natural gas barbecue grill, double burners, a sink, and refrigerator next to the gas fire pit. In addition to all the features in the kitchen, including a four-seater bar with quartz counters, the home has a large laundry room and pantry.

For relaxing slumber, there are three king bedrooms, the primary with its own attached bathroom including a walk-in shower, soaking tub and walk-in closet. The other two bedrooms share a full bathroom with a step-in shower. From pretty linens to luxurious mattresses, the bedrooms are built for relaxation. The primary suite features a big screen and a door directly to the patio. With the three bedrooms the absolute top limit is six guests.

In keeping with the ocean theme favored in all their vacation rentals, the Desert Retreat features underwater photography by winery founder, Blain Roberts. The cool coastal colors are a welcome complement to the sunny southern weather.

The retreat is just two and a half hours from the West Rim of the Grand Canyon, a half hour from the rustic wild b***o town of Oatman, Arizona, and an hour from Lake Havasu and the London Bridge. Ten minutes away are the casinos of Laughlin, Nevada, with great restaurants and concerts.

This is a non-smoking and non-vaping property both inside and out. There are keyless entries for visitors which also have security cameras.

Mark your calendars for the EPIC crab feed in Westport!

Westport, arguably Washington’s best beach community, is famous for many things. Near the top of the list is the legendary Ocosta Booster Club Crab Feed. This incredible fundraiser began in 1993, with all proceeds benefiting scholarships and programs for students from Westport, Grayland, North Cove and Tokeland.

This annual event draws visitors from around the state to an all-you-can-eat smorgasbord of Dungeness crab, cocktail sauce, spaghetti, garlic bread, and coleslaw. Beer, wine, cocktails, and sodas are sold separately.

Event organizers said, “We plan to serve over 2500 pounds of Dungeness crab, all donated by our generous commercial fishing community.”

All ages are invited to attend this epic dinner on Saturday, March 4, from noon to 6pm, at the Ocosta Rec Hall located at 45 Ocosta 6th Street. Although this is an Aberdeen address, the rec hall is located between Westport and Aberdeen, just a few blocks off of State Route 105.

Guests ages 13 and up can enjoy this feast for $35, it is $18 for those ages 6 to 12, kids age five and under are free. Tickets are available only at the door. The Booster Club accepts cash and credit cards.

Be sure to stop by Westport Winery Garden Resort on your way to or from the crab feed to taste wine and spirits, or take a swim through the International Mermaid Museum.
