French philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty once said, “The visible is pregnant with the invisible.” Landscape is more than a depiction of nature or scenery; it is a vessel for feelings and emotions. The exhibition "Landscapes Unspoken" takes this as its starting point, exploring how emotions and memories that words have yet to touch quietly emerge within what we see.
"Landscapes Unspoken" brings together paintings and sculptures by four artists from Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. At first glance, the works appear calm and pure, yet they are not straightforward representations of the world. Instead, they condense time, perception, imagination, and everyday life, allowing the visible forms to give rise to invisible states of mind.
Before words reach them, before meaning is fixed, landscapes seem like a kind of pause. Immersed in these works, we may encounter not only the artists’ landscapes but also the echoes of our own inner world. We invite you to slow down and listen to these silent reverberations. Perhaps, in a quiet moment, you will encounter a landscape within yourself that has yet to be spoken.
