Xavier Allard Terracotta & Ceramics Human anatomy, translated into clay. I build sculptures that celebrate the tension and grit of the body.

Based in Fethiye/Turkey, I share my studio process, figurative studies, and the finished pieces that emerge from the mud.

Latest progress on this female torso. I’m focusing on the structural tension and the way the light sits on the clay. It’s nearly complete now—how is it looking to you?

Bu kadın gövdesindeki son durum. Yapısal gerilime ve ışığın kil üzerindeki duruşuna odaklanıyorum. Neredeyse bitmek üzere; sizce nasıl görünüyor?

Digging into the clay to find the form hidden inside. Every stroke and every curve is part of the search.

Recent anatomical studies in terracotta.
From the resolve of Odysseus to the structural tension of the torso, these pieces explore the underlying architecture of the human form. I’ve kept the clay raw and the marks visible to preserve the energy of the initial block-out and the tactile nature of the search.
