Please visit us at the details below. 2902 Gallery is a Singapore based contemporary art photography gallery dedicated in its mission to provide a presentation and promotional platform to contemporary artists who uses photography as a medium. Christened after its opening date on the leap day of 29 February 2008, the gallery’s name encapsulates
the rare moment captured in time by a photograph.
2902 Gallery aims to be the nexus and catalyst of discussion, thought and critique on art photography in the region, by showcasing up to 10 exhibitions annually, that features the works of both established and emerging artists from Singapore and the Southeast Asian region. In cultivating the appreciation for art photography in Singapore, 2902 Gallery plays a supportive role to the community by actively conducting an assortment of talks,seminars and workshops of varied levels to cater to individuals with different photography interests. These programmes serve as a springboard for burgeoning artists to develop their professional careers, as well as an avenue for the general
public to better appreciate art photography. With an understanding in the historical development of the photography medium in Southeast Asia and the global arts scene, 2902 Gallery embraces all genres of photography and seeks to disregard the definitive boundaries in arts. The gallery is astute in capturing the pulse of the regional art landscape as it evolves in tandem with the global arts scene, and focuses on contemporary photography as its main emphasis.
2902 Gallery is also the organiser of the biennale Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF), a non-profit event that promotes the discussion and development of photography in Singapore through an arena of interaction and exchange with photographers from all over the world.
