Wood and its natural grain are recurring elements throughout Sophie Whettnall’s practice. For our collaboration, she translated this recurring motif into a drawing, embossed directly into a series of leather laptop bags.

Earlier this summer, we brought a first preview of our collaboration with Sophie Whettnall to Villa Paquebot in Knokke.

Set amongst art, design and architecture, we presented the six leather bags for the first time, each embossed with Sophie’s drawing inspired by the natural grain of wood.

Thank you to Phillips for inviting us as part of their Summer Exhibition and Fondation CAB for the beautiful location.

It started with a search for the perfect bag to carry our laptops. So we decided to design one ourselves.

Sophie Whettnall proposed a drawing inspired by the natural grain of wood, a recurring material throughout her practice.

Together, we translated the drawing into leather through embossing, creating a bag designed to be used and carried every day.

For our latest collaboration with Belgian artist Sophie Whettnall, we created a series of leather laptop bags featuring one of her drawings, inspired by the natural grain of wood.

Embossed directly into the leather, the drawing appears and disappears with light and movement.
