What was Arabia really like before Islam?
Before the rise of Islam, the Arabian Peninsula was a vast and challenging land of deserts, mountains, coastal regions, trade routes, and scattered settlements. Water was scarce, life was difficult, and much of the region was dominated by enormous deserts such as the Rub' al Khali — the Empty Quarter.
In this documentary, we explore the geography of Arabia before Islam, including Makkah, Hijaz, Najd, Yemen, the Rub' al Khali, ancient trade routes, and the harsh environment in which Arab communities lived.
This was the land where revelation would later descend, where Makkah and Madinah would become the heart of Islamic history, and from where the message of Islam would spread across the world.
Watch until the end to discover what Arabia was really like before Islam.
