NINEVEH ARTSPACE: Home of Contemporary Arts in Laguna
What started out as an experimental space for a one-man show in November 2003 has since evolved
into seven (7) gallery spaces (and a sizeable back room) in 2011, displaying works of artists from all over the Philippines. Situated in Santa Cruz, the capital town of Laguna, NINEVEH ARTSPACE is within a compound named
JONAH’S HOUSE OF PRAYER,
which also includes a prayer hall and a nature space for plants and animals. At least four new sets of shows open every 2-3 months, showing a mix of works by starting and
established artists. With its firm belief in the talent and skill of the Filipino Artist, NINEVEH ARTSPACE constantly seeks out
new talent, encourages struggling ones and highlights the excellence of recognized older artists. Owned by art patron Luis Miguel ‘Sir Louie” Liwag Sevilla and managed by Bro. De Leon, the gallery has Noel Soler Cuizon, CCP 13 Artists awardee, as curator. The gallery is partial to figurative works
by noted/promising Filipino artists. NINEVEH ARTSPACE is a continuing celebration of the talent of the Filipino artist, a talent which emmanates from the Divine Creator.
