A formal portrait of late Benigno "Ninoy" S. Aquino Jr. from the 1948 ECOS Yearbook, capturing the future senator as a young graduate of San Beda College in Manila (now San Beda University). This archival image serves as a significant historical record of his formative years.

Born on November 27, 1932, in Concepcion, Tarlac, to a prominent hacindero family. He went on to become mayor of Concepcion, Tarlac, then vice governor, governor, and senator. As a senator, he was a vocal critic of President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. When Martial Law was declared, he was the first politician to be arrested. After years imprisoned and then exiled to the United States, he returned to the Philippines on August 21, 1983; however, he was assassinated on the tarmac of the Manila International Airport (now Ninoy Aquino International Airport). His death became an inspiration for many to fight the Marcos regime, which culminated in the EDSA Revolution in 1986, which ousted President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

Today, the San Beda Alabang Museum and Archives commemorates the death of Ninoy Aquino but also celebrates his memory, ideals, and legacy. He is depicted in a mural at the Abbey Church of Our Lady of Montserrat, alongside other notable personalities and saints which is featured in the exhibit and book "Dalanginan" curated and authored by Dr. Joseph Richard C. Renta III. Visitors may also view the Dalanginan exhibit at the San Beda Alabang Museum and Archives.

The Photograph was taken from Ninoy: Ideals & Ideologies 1932-1983

Join us as we commemorate the 165th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal through a Wreath-Laying Ceremony. Let us gather in remembrance of our national hero's enduring legacy and reaffirm the values he championed: love of country, pursuit of knowledge, and commitment to the common good.

Born in 1861, Dr. Jose Rizal devoted his life to awakening the Filipino people's sense of national identity during a time of Spanish colonial oppression. Through his writings, he exposed social injustices and awakened a spirit of nationalism that encouraged Filipinos to work toward freedom, dignity, and nationhood. His ideals continues to resonate today, making him a lasting symbol of Filipino nationalism and selfless service to the nation.

We warmly invite the San Beda College Alabang community to participate in this meaningful tribute on June 19, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, at the Batang Rizal Monument.
