The 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE VIRGEN DE LOS REMEDIOS’ CANONICAL CORONATION

In pastoral consideration of the ongoing state of calamity in our province, characterized by changing weather conditions, severe floods in various areas of Pampanga, and unfavorable conditions impacting the ex*****on of our scheduled activities, the archdiocesan celebration for the 70th anniversary of the Virgen de los Remedios’ canonical coronation will be held at the Repository Chapel of the Arzobispado de Pampanga on September 08, 2026.

Designated lay representatives are encouraged to attend in-person on the 3:00pm Mass inside the chapel, together with the members of the clergy. The Lay Faithful are welcome to join within the grounds, or to participate on the broadcast provided by the Archdiocesan Commission on Social Communications.

The number and designation of these representatives will be determined and coordinated by the Vicariate of Saint John Mary Vianney, the host vicariate.

More information will be shared in the next coming days.

Warmest congratulations to fray Froid Cristiane F. Refujia, OADs, fray Alen Paul M. Madriaga, OADs, and fray Vincent Jan Mikhail J. Esteban, OADs, on the occasion of their Solemn Consecration on August 21, 2026, at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish, Talugtug, Nueva Ecija. May you continue to live the OAD charism of “Joyfully Serving the Most High in the Spirit of Humility” in faithful service to God and His Church.

Hand-painted Personalized Design using Acrylic Paint

The Solemn Consecration Candles of frays Froid Cristiane F. Refujia, OADs, Alen Paul M. Madriaga, OADs, and Vincent Jan Mikhail J. Esteban, OADs, are inspired by the traditional design of Paschal Candles, symbolizing the joy of Christ’s Resurrection and the OADs charism of “Joyfully Serving the Most High in the Spirit of Humility.”

The design of all three candles begins with the first emblem, the symbol of the Lay Discalced Augustinians, representing their identity and bond as members of the OADs. The second or middle emblem is the symbol of the Local Chapter of St. Possidius in Nueva Ecija, signifying their belonging and fraternal communion within their local chapter. These two common emblems establish the shared identity and community of the three soon-to-be consecrated members. Following these are the personal symbols and the patron saint of each member, which represent their individual vocation, devotion, and spiritual identity.

This candle was commissioned just days before its intended use. Given the weather, I had a hard time doing it since the paint does not dry up quickly. But with very extended patience and careful hand placements, I was able to finish it a day before the deadline. This will be the first time that our hand-painted candle will be used for the Rite of Baptism.

The Details of fray Andrew’s Solemn Consecration Candle 🙏🏻🕯️

fray Andrew’s Solemn Consecration candle design reflects his profound spiritual devotion and his affiliation with the Lay Discalced Augustinians (OAD). The upper emblem features the official logo of the Lay OAD, while the lower emblem bears his personal motto, Laetitia et Humilitas in Servitio Domini (“Joy and Humility in the Service of the Lord”). Beneath this is inscribed his spiritual name and the details of his Solemn Consecration.

The central emblem depicts Nuestra Señora de la Purificación y la Candelaria de Jaro, the patroness of Western Visayas, to whom fray Andrew has a deep personal devotion. Connecting these three principal emblems are two meaningful spiritual symbols. The clasped hands are inspired by the wedding ring of St. Rita of Cascia, which also served as the model for the consecration rings of the Lay OAD. The shield is fray Andrew’s personal coat of arms, representing his devotion to St. Catherine of Alexandria, the patroness of his home parish, symbolized by the broken wheel. It also features a lion, signifying his hometown of Leon, Iloilo. The shield’s colors, white and red, symbolize the purity and martyrdom of St. Catherine—virtues that fray Andrew seeks to emulate in his life of faithful service.

Hand-painted Personalized Design using Acrylic Paint

This design features the patron saint and namesake of fray Jose Luther, St. Joseph, with three white Lilies and a crossed Hammer and Saw. Above it is the OAD Lay logo, a symbol of the spiritual bond of fray Jose Luther to the order of St. Augustine. The lower emblem shows the Marian Monogram symbolizing the devotion of fray Jose Luther to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, patroness of his hometown.
