The Details of fray Andrew’s Solemn Consecration Candle 🙏🏻🕯️
fray Andrew’s Solemn Consecration candle design reflects his profound spiritual devotion and his affiliation with the Lay Discalced Augustinians (OAD). The upper emblem features the official logo of the Lay OAD, while the lower emblem bears his personal motto, Laetitia et Humilitas in Servitio Domini (“Joy and Humility in the Service of the Lord”). Beneath this is inscribed his spiritual name and the details of his Solemn Consecration.
The central emblem depicts Nuestra Señora de la Purificación y la Candelaria de Jaro, the patroness of Western Visayas, to whom fray Andrew has a deep personal devotion. Connecting these three principal emblems are two meaningful spiritual symbols. The clasped hands are inspired by the wedding ring of St. Rita of Cascia, which also served as the model for the consecration rings of the Lay OAD. The shield is fray Andrew’s personal coat of arms, representing his devotion to St. Catherine of Alexandria, the patroness of his home parish, symbolized by the broken wheel. It also features a lion, signifying his hometown of Leon, Iloilo. The shield’s colors, white and red, symbolize the purity and martyrdom of St. Catherine—virtues that fray Andrew seeks to emulate in his life of faithful service.
