Imogen Taylor 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘉𝘦𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥 is now on at Dunedin Public Art Gallery in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

Curated by Dr Kirsty Baker, Curator at City Gallery Wellington, this solo exhibition of Taylor's work brings together new and recent painting which playfully engage the weight of art's histories.

On now until 13 September 2026, at Dunedin Public Art Gallery before its expanded display at City Gallery Wellington in early 2027.

Tomorrow is your last chance to explore Cora-Allan Recording Mauri: Moments of Light and Earth at the National Library of New Zealand.

Cora-Allan brings together experimental ways of tracing mauri and wairua from the natural world. From cyanotype photography to written text, and illustrative drawing on Hiapo (Niuean barkcloth) to live painting with whenua pigments, she connects her artmaking to traditional knowledge systems from both Niue and Aotearoa.

Open today until 5pm and Saturday 9am-1pm.

Since June 2024, the Gallery has been operating off-site, and today our kaimahi, led by Mana Whenua, Wellington City Council and City Gallery Foundation gathered for a Te Whakaoho Ake ceremony to reawaken the building.

Over the next few months, we will be finishing our preparations, so that we can welcome you back later this year.

Thank you for our Pōneke arts community for partnering with us to bring our offsite exhibitions to life at National Library of New Zealand, The Dowse Art Museum and Te Papa.

City Gallery Wellington Te Whare Toi reopens 10 October 2026 with Cornelia Parker. We will be open daily 10am-5pm and stay open late every Thursday until 9pm.

It’s the final week to immerse yourself in the wairua of Cora-Allan Recording Mauri: Moments of Light and Earth at the National Library of New Zealand, closing this weekend 23 May 2026.

Cora-Allan draws on a wide range of artistic and cultural knowledge to depict Aotearoa in its current form, positioning artmaking as a dynamic resource for observing, recording and sharing the mauri of this place, at this time.

Open Tuesday to Friday 10am-5pm
Saturday 9am-1pm

Through the lens of his Kodak Chamera digital camera, Chaske-Waste, age 9, son of exhibiting artist Cora-Allan, captured his perspective of the Recording Mauri: Moments of Light and Earth opening day event.

“I like watching to see if people like the artwork,” and “I wonder what they are thinking...”.
