Kia Ora whanau, have created a petition in hopes to restore the Maori Land Court Website to the original form that was efficient and approachable (can dig up some photos of the old website) and remove Pataka Whenua that in my opinion facilitates in the alienation of Maori from their whakapapa, migrational patterns and most importantly their land, the old website land was organized by last name making searching for whanau easy and efficient, the new one searches by first name and with some land blocks having 4000 owners and 600 pages of names, this makes finding your whanau significantly difficult and time consuming, in the old website I could open multiple tabs and search multiple names simultaneously.
With the current website this is not possible and in my measurements each name and land block takes around 2 minutes to search (not including having to remember every family members first name) having to reload the website for each search making the research of hundreds of names and land blocks a monumental challenge, alongside many Maori names being spelt incorrectly. In my belief this is by design so that the land is eventually forgotten and can be consumed by local and regional council's aiding with the assistance of the Maori land court further land theft.
