What a fantastic night! 🎉

We were delighted to see such a great turnout for our quiz night recently at the RSA Hall, where we raised $1,308 for our museum. What a fantastic result!

Congratulations to the winning quiz teams, who received 1st, 2nd and 3rd place vouchers. A huge thank you to our generous sponsors and to Chrissie for all the hard work she put into gathering the amazing raffle prizes. We also drew the winners of our sheepskin raffle, which raised $244.

Special thanks to our quiz master Stuart Walker who did an excellent job keeping the evening running smoothly and keeping everyone entertained.

Finally, we'd like to extend our sincere thanks to the RSA members, who couldn't have been more helpful, and to our wonderful museum volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the evening such a success.

Well done everyone, and thank you for your support! 👏

Here's a photo of the workshop with one of our local talents, Sue Lean. A big thanks to all the artists who held workshops and talks, to share their passion with our community.

We are very grateful to everyone for your ongoing support of our fabulous volunteer-run museum. :)

Another artist featured in our June exhibition is Jackie Matheson, a member of the Otago Art Society who dabbled and painted from a young age. "Now with more time on my hands I am really enjoying getting seriously back into my art... I have also successfully exhibited and sold my work."

Come in today or tomorrow between 1-4pm or Friday - Sunday between 10am - 4pm to see Jackie's art, alongside other local artists. Most artwork is for sale so you can enjoy it well beyond the exhibition by having it in your home!

We still have two events coming up that are part of our 5th birthday celebrations:
🎨June 20th @ 2-3pm Zenobia Southcombe presentation (just turn up at our Heritage Centre)
🎨June 26th & 27th @ 11-3pm Sue Lean "Introduction to Painting in oil" workshop - txt 022 0145596 to register

Here are some images from another of the artists exhibiting at our Heritage Centre during June. Jeff Matheson says, "Having been my wife's critic for many years, I decided to give her an opportunity to respond. Painting gives me time to experiment and try new things as I now have retired."

Come in today and tomorrow between 10am - 4pm to see Jeff's beautiful artwork, as well as other artwork by talented local artists.
