As the Phoney Holiday tour continues we’re heading north for our second stop: Copenhagen. 🇩🇰✨
Where our designer Eva lived and worked for the last 2,5 months. From visiting 3daysofdesign and soaking up new creative inspiration, to eating BMO’s on repeat, morning swims, and working from the most aesthetic spots. She unlocked a full scandi summer and already found a few favorite places!

Where our designer Eva lived and worked for the last 2,5 months. From visiting 3daysofdesign and soaking up new creative inspiration, to eating BMO’s on repeat, morning swims, and working from the most aesthetic spots. She unlocked a full scandi summer and already found a few favorite places!

This summer, our Phoneys are making their way across the map. So, in the spirit of a little travel inspiration, we thought we’d share some things that caught our eye along the way.

First stop: Kyoto & Shanghai, where our designer Lucija let local friends lead the way - from temple-hopping through Koyasan, Nikko, and mossy Kyoto, to the grandeur of imperial China and Shanghai’s cutting-edge design scene. ✨🏯

Bartine’s new visual identity is led by a family of B’s, which - in true Klaas Gubbels fashion - is part of an experiment of repetition. The further it ventures from home, the more recognizable the B will be. A core version of the logo, built for people who are less familiar with the brand. Get closer, and it loosens. Inside the shop, on a poster or a piece of merch, the B gets room to be abstract, illustrative, a little more playful. It changes, morphs and takes on new faces - a nod to Bartine's own refusal to settle on a single self.

Bread cannot be rushed. Neither can anything worth doing. We take the long way - in the bakery and in life. Presence over convenience, process over shortcut, friction over ease. The dough proves overnight. So do we.

We took inspiration from Klaas Gubbels who spent his career painting the same objects. Same subject, always a different work. He believed the traces of making must stay visible. That imperfection is not a flaw. It is proof that something was made by hand, with intention, over time.

That is the philosophy behind the new Bartine identity.

Maiwe's range follows a sequence of four essential steps, each serving its own irreplaceable purpose.
To set the products apart per step, we gave every step in the routine its own color and placed the product within that setting.
