I decided to create this laundry advert using both Veo 3 and Canva Pro and I must say, the blend is surprisingly smooth. It's amazing how something that would usually require several models, actors, and hours of production can now be done in just minutes , of course, with the right prompt and editing skills.

Even more exciting? The brand song used in the ad was also generated using AI software and carefully crafted through precise, emotion-driven prompting.

It all happened fast.
The ad was posted, and then it vanished.

No sign of life.

No alarm rang.
No one noticed.
Not even a whisper in the scroll.

Just silence.

They said it had promise.

No trace.

It was clean. Too clean.

How one client nearly sent me into early retirement

This story is not for the faint-hearted…
But let’s begin.

I woke up that morning with peace in my spirit.
Power was stable. My phone was charged. I even made pancakes and tea and took it slowly like a man with a plan.
I told myself, “Today, I will not be stressed.”

Then a client messaged me.

“Good morning. Please help me with just a very simple design. Nothing much. Just something neat and nice.”

I smiled.
I whispered… “Finally, someone that understands peace.”

That was the beginning of the relentless chaos.

I opened my laptop, joyfully.
White space. Clean fonts. Soft contrast.
Beautiful. Gentle. Premium.

I sent it off confidently.
Five minutes later:

“Hmm. Can you make it more exciting? Like something that shouts, but whispers at the same time.”

My brain paused.
“Something that shouts… but whispers? how now? HOW??”
I cleaned my screen. I read it again. I prayed a small prayer.

I added colour — “It’s too loud.”
I toned it down — “Now it’s too soft.”
I gave it contrast — “It’s giving wedding IV.”
I removed background — “Now it’s too empty.”
I brought the background back — “Now it’s choking.”

At that point, I spoke to myself gently.
“Tomiwa… you’ve survived WAEC, NEPA, and Nigeria and even MTN. You will survive this one.”

After several versions, 1 fasting, and a quick spiritual intervention,
I sent a version I didn’t even fully understand again. As in ehn

“Ah! This is it! This is exactly what I had in mind!”

What he described…
What I designed…
Are not even in the same category at all. The attached video says it all. But somehow, I got it.

Now here’s the real lesson:

Most people don’t always know how to say what they want.
But they know how they want to feel.

When you’re working with someone who understands that,
someone who listens beyond the words and reads the brief behind the brief,
YOU HOLD THEM TIGHT

Because design is not just skill.
It’s psychology.
It’s patience.
It’s spiritual sometimes.

And sometimes,
It’s knowing when to add colour and when to just close the file and go and pray.

I’ve come to realize something deeply humbling , the greatness of your work is never about the tools alone, but about the hand and the heart behind them.
