๐Ÿ‘‡ Webinar opportunity coming up!

The two latest issues of Museum International, โ€™s academic journal, focused on provenance research. To continue the discussion and share best practices, ICOM is organising a webinar bringing together the editors and several authors from both issues.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Speakers will explore provenance research across different types of collections and discuss its main challenges and implications, particularly for collections acquired in colonial contexts. The webinar will also look at how museums and governing bodies can support and promote provenance research.

๐Ÿค– How is Artificial Intelligence shaping the future of museums?

ICOM, in partnership with UNESCO, has launched a global survey to explore how museums around the world are using AI, the opportunities it presents, and the challenges it brings.

Museums of all types and sizes are invited to participate and share their experiences. Your contribution will help inform a joint UNESCOโ€“ICOM report that will support future policy, ethical guidance, and capacity-building across the museum sector.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Survey deadline: 21 July 2026

We encourage all museum professionals in Malta to take part and help shape the future of AI in museums.

One month ago, we gathered to explore an important question:

How can museums become stronger spaces of connection in our communities? ๐ŸŒ

Through discussions on youth engagement, mental wellbeing, inclusivity, intercultural dialogue, shared heritage, and support for cultural professionals, participants exchanged ideas and practical approaches that place people at the heart of museum practice.

Here are some highlights from the day โœจ
