For the first time i experience “The artist block”. It started in August and i was able to overcome it in a way few weeks ago. This is actually behind the sense of an artist’s life, and since i paint and create art based on my emotions, it took me several months to adjust.

What is artist block?

Artist's block, often referred to as creative block, is a condition where an artist finds it challenging to produce new work or experiences a creative slowdown. It can manifest as a lack of inspiration, motivation, or ideas. Artists may feel stuck and unable to create, even if they have the technical skills. Artist's block can be caused by various factors such as stress, self-doubt, perfectionism, or external pressures. Overcoming it often involves exploring new experiences, experimenting with different techniques, and giving oneself permission to create without the fear of judgment or failure.

In my case it was due to a stressful incident i was passing through, struggling in perfection and achieving high at all costs. Me switching paintings made me express my emotions, i broke my block and enjoying creativity again. But the most important transition was to accept the fact about that situation and take it easy on myself.

Being an artist is not only about painting and feeling, its about understanding the connection to create, give yourself the freedom of expression & embrace it.
