Layers of Light: Traces of Silence and Repetition at Dawn

Vanessa Su's work captures the emotional traces while working at dawn. The traces of overlapping colors and brushes reveal the beauty inherent in them while embracing the sense of loss. Her work shows an attempt to reconstruct life through the process of discovering light in solitude and emptying itself.

정수진 작가의 작업은 새벽에 작업하는 동안의 감정흔적을 고스란히 담아낸다. 겹겹이 쌓인 색채와 붓의 흔적은 상실감을 감싸 안으면서도 그 안에 내재된 아름다움을 드러낸다. 그녀의 작품은 고독 속에서 빛을 발견하고, 스스로를 비워내는 과정을 통해 삶을 재구성하려는 시도를 보여준다.

Art Works Paris Seoul Gallery is hosting the ⟪2025 Winter Selection⟫ exhibition to welcome the year 2025. This exhibition features a diverse range of works by Korean masters and contemporary art, including KIM Whanki, YUN Hyong-keun, LEE Bae, HUR Kyung-Ae and LEE Eu. JUNG Da Gyeom records raw landscapes in the border areas between urban and rural spaces, exploring a sensory perception of time within these environments. This exhibition, "One of Ginkgo," centers on the ginkgo tree as a symbol of interaction between nature and humanity, capturing moments of disappearance felt in this exchange. Through the long course of its evolution, the ginkgo embodies the intricate network between subject, object, and environment, revealing layers of temporal shifts and transitions. Jung’s work visualizes these strata of time and the nuanced sense of change within nature, inviting reflection on our relationship with the natural world.

정다겸 작가는 도시와 전원의 경계 지역에서 다듬어지지 않은 자연 풍경을 기록하며, 그 속에서 감각적인 시간의 흐름을 탐구합니다. 이번 전시 는 은행나무를 중심으로 자연과 인간 사이의 상호작용과, 그 안에서 느껴지는 사라짐의 순간을 포착합니다. 은행나무는 긴 시간에 걸친 진화를 통해 주체와 객체, 환경이 맺는 미시적 관계망을 드러내는 상징적 존재로, 작가의 작업을 통해 자연이 가진 시간의 층위와 변화의 감각을 시각화합니다.

On October 2, AWPS Gallery will host the exhibition "Close-up" by Frédéric Léglise. Well-known for his female nudes, Frédéric will revisit and quote his own works by cropping certain details and repainting them on a larger scale. For the painter, this is an opportunity to re-examine the classic concept of portrait, to engage in a dialogue with abstraction, and to play with the notion of scale, much like transitioning from a wide shot to a close-up in film. We hope this exhibition, his first solo show in Korea in seven years, will provide an opportunity to connect with many audiences.

가을 햇살이 따사로운 10월 2일, AWPS 갤러리는 프레데릭 레글리즈의 전시를 개최합니다. 여성누드화로 잘 알려진 프레데릭은 이번 전시에서 자신의 이전 작품의 특정 세부사항을 잘라내고 그것을 다시 더 크게 그려내는 방식으로 자신의 작품을 재조명하고 인용하여 선보입니다. 화가에게 이것은 초상화의 고전적 개념을 재검토하고, 추상과 대화하며, 비율의 개념을 가지고 노는 문제로, 영화에서 와이드샷에서 클로즈업으로 전환하는 것과 같습니다. 7년만에 열리는 한국의 개인전을 통해 많은 관객과 만나는 기회가 되기를 바랍니다.
