Last year in May, the Global Issues Network traveled to Toyoka city to help out the Toyooka Municipal Museum for Oriental White Stork. We do this to try and move away from the extinction of these Storks in Japan. We did this by helping out the museum build a small water canal to increase the biodiversity of the rice farms for the Storks, and creating 3 little bridges to allow the small insects and animals to be able to hide from the Storks and for the farmers to be able to access the rice field.

Thank you to everyone who helped and looking forward to this years trip:)

The NIS Global Issues net work (GIN) took a trip to the local lake for volunteer work in hopes of helping the locals preserver it. Communicating between GIN and the locals of NIS have never been better, and we are excited to take on new projects like these in the future. Thank you to everyone who helped :)

We were lucky enough to be selling rice from Toyooka City at the NIS garage sale today! We were able to sell all of the rice we had in stock, much thanks to all the GIN members that helped out today. Even greater thanks to Iemoto San and the people from Toyooka city for coming all the way to NIS for this sale!

For the first time GIN will be selling more rice from Toyooka at the annual walkathon! So please come see us and buy some rice for the endangered stork project then! :D

Global Issues Network is selling chemical-free rice from Toyooka City. Money raised from this will go to support local farmers helping preserve the habitats of the endangered stork. Please take and fill out the form to order rice, and give it to your homeroom teacher. The display with forms is in front of the library.
Please buy some!

It tastes great and you know it's safe :D

*Our next order sale will be next year! Thank you to Toyooka City for providing the rice! :D We wish to collaborate with you very soon.
