Ryozan Park Gallery Mugen

Ryozan Park Gallery Mugen Exhibition space available in Sugamo area. A new art space for the area displaying the work of artists from across the globe.

Gallery Mugen is tucked away in a quaint corner of Sugamo on the second floor of Ryozan Park’s GRAND Co-working space. A reservation-only gallery, Gallery Mugen aims to host the work of both up and coming local artists as well as internationally renowned names. It is an intimate space, providing the community with an opportunity for a moment of peace, and a chance to reflect on the art they are vi

ewing. Gallery Mugen also represents an opportunity to buy some carefully curated art, at an affordable price point, though this is not the main purpose of the space. It is intended as a place to promote art, simply for the joy of viewing art; something that is becoming increasingly rare in an ever-more commercialized world. Please make a reservation and await confirmation before visiting the gallery. What this takes away from convenience, is made up for in the more personal experience of visiting the gallery. With no permanent gallery staff, visitors are able to enjoy the gallery at their own pace, without the constant sense of being monitored, as can be the case at larger galleries.

𝗚𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗠𝗨𝗚𝗘𝗡 is proud to be featuring a returning artist 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝗶𝘄𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗵𝗶𝗺 (South Korea) alongside 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗻(Scotland) in our upcoming exhibition 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘔𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘺, opening on October 4th to 31st.

In 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘔𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘺, Leghorn’s paintings feature characters from “Battle of the Planets” the heavily edited remake of Tatsuo Yoshida’s 1972 animation series, `Science Ninja Team` Gatchama. The figurines act as stimuli, eliciting emotional responses rooted in nostalgia and cultural identity.

𝗚𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗠𝗨𝗚𝗘𝗡 is excited to open “Plastic Memory” the joint exhibition of 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝗶𝘄𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗵𝗶𝗺 and 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗻 on Saturday, 4 October, 2025.

Ghim and Leghorn remix Japanese pop culture icons through different mediums and perspectives to explore how nostalgia, history, and mass production of images both construct and destabilize personal identity in a late-capitalist era. Together they ask: how do memory, consumption & cultural myths shape who we are in an age of endless copies?

Plastic Memory will be open to the public for visits starting from 4 to 31 October, Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 7pm.

Gallery Mugen welcomes photographer and educator Alejandro Nunez for an exhibition of photography starting June 13th. Born in Argentina, Nunez draws inspiration from his garden in Uruguay, where he currently resides.

Not bound to precision Nunez embraces uncertainty capturing the expressive and ephemeral. A teacher of Aikido, the philosophy of “water” is of particular interest to the photographer whose work evokes connotations of time, matter, fluidity and harmony.

An early collaborative party will be held on Friday, June 13th from 17:00 - 22:00 in conjunction with Tokyo Poetry Journal, perfect for an artist whose work is defined as “visual poetry.”

Saturday the 14th with be the official public reception, with Argentinean bread from a baker based in Tokyo. Drop by anytime from 12:00 - 19:00 to meet Alejandro and view the photographs.

From Sunday 15th until the 22nd the exhibition will run every day from 12:00 until 19:00. If you cannot meet these times please contact us and we will try to arrange a viewing.
