昨年の移転時、新進気鋭のデザインデュオ・I IN さん（湯山さんと照井さん）にKANATAのインテリアデザインを手掛けていただきました。
トラバーチンをふんだんに使った1Fメインギャラリー、上質な雰囲気が漂う2Fプライベートギャラリー + VIP応接室 + バー、そして居心地の良い社員の為の3F オフィス + カフェテリア。
カナタの美意識が随所に見られ、I INさんの鋭い感性に日々、感動と感謝を覚えるカナタ一同であります。

ここで I IN さんのをお言葉をご紹介いたします。

「既存建築に対し、床と壁面を大胆に石のみで構成することで、空間全体をひとつの巨大な地質のように再構築した。内部には異なるスケールの空間が点在し、それらを繋ぐようにして、ほのかな灯りがギャラリー全体に静かに流れていく。その光は、人々を自然とそれぞれの空間へ誘いながら、場所に奥行きと静かな緊張感を与えている。
石、作品、そして外部から差し込む自然光によって構成されたプリミティブな空間は、作品と対峙する人の感覚をゆっくりと研ぎ澄ませていく。」

For our move to Omotesando, we had the pleasure of working with up-and-coming design duo I IN (Yuyama-san and Terui-san), whose aesthetics truly resonate and align with that of the gallery.
From the noble travertine of our 1F main gallery, to the elegance of our 2nd floor private gallery/VIP reception room/bar, and to the natural serenity of our office and cafeteria,
the aesthetics of Kanata have been imbued within the walls of our 4-story building thanks to the talent and imagination of I IN. Every day, we are deeply grateful to be in such a beautiful space.

From the words of I IN:

”Against the existing architecture, the floors and walls were boldly reconstructed almost entirely in stone, transforming the entire space into something akin to a vast geological formation. Spaces of varying scales are dispersed throughout the gallery, while subtle light quietly flows between them, naturally guiding visitors deeper into the interior. This light gives the space both depth and a quiet sense of tension.
Composed of stone, artworks, and natural light entering from outside, the primitive environment gradually sharpens one’s senses in the presence of art.“

Thank you to all who came to visit us at The Treasure House Fair — it was yet again our very best show ever,
with over 15 works sold including works by Niyoko Ikuta, Ken Mihara, Takafumi Asakura and Sachiko Oshima, etc.

Congratulations to the entire team, as for various reasons, Kanata took 9 persons in total to attend the fair (the first half was attended by Wahei, Kumiko, Ami, Yishu, Akiho and Jikai,
whereas the second half was attended again by Kumiko, Akiho, Jikai together with Takeshi, Go and Karlla).

And last but not least, a special thank you to our client of many years, Dr. H.B., for hosting a most magical dinner party for the entire team at his beautiful home.
It was an unforgettable mid-summer night’s dream!

The Treasure House Fair へお越しいただいたみなさまへ、深く御礼申し上げます。
お陰さまで15点もの作品がご成約となり、ロンドンで過去最高の成績を上げることが叶いました。

総勢九名でフェアに挑んだカナタチーム。前半は青山、砂原、中野、楊、松田と戸上の六名。
そして後半は砂原、松田と戸上のオリジナルメンバーにモンテロ、李、そしてパスクの三名が加わりました。
ちなみに青山は途中でNY行き。。。

なお、長年カナタを支えてくださったH.B.博士がカナタメンバーのために素敵な晩餐会をご自宅で開催いただきました。
H.B.様、心より御礼申し上げます！
まさに、真夏の夜の夢でした。
