【展示のお知らせ】
すでに始まっていますが、住んでいる地域にお馴染みの叡山電車の100周年記念として、「未来のえいでん」アートプロジェクトに出展することになりました！

叡電沿線に位置する京都芸術大学と京都精華大学の学生および教員が、各駅にて作品展示を行なっています。チンは修学院駅の看板枠に、自分史上最大な作品を設置させていただきました。

11月になると、沿線のもみじのトンネル、貴船神社や鞍馬寺が大人気です。京都に来る機会がございましたら、ぜひ叡電で作品鑑賞をしながら、秋を楽しんでください！

I’ve been invited to participate in the 100th anniversary art project of Eizan Railway（叡山電車）, a local commute and sightseeing train in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City. It is a collaboration among the railway company, Kyoto University of the Arts, and Kyoto Seika University where I am enrolled as a PhD candidate. It is my honour and a joy to be able to work on a project close to my community.

My work is exhibited at Syugakuin（修学院）station in a set of old signage posts. It is the largest piece I’ve ever made!

Eizan Railway is hugely popular in autumn for its maple leaves tunnel and destinations such as Kifune Shrine（貴船神社）and Kurama Temple（鞍馬寺）. If you happen to be visiting Kyoto, do not miss this railway experience!

「城跡芸術展2025」の最終日になりました。亀岡に訪ねてきた皆様、ありがとうございました！

この度「石垣」をテーマに決まったのは、4年に渡って馴染んできたけどまだまだ知らない亀山城跡についてより知りたかったからです。亀岡市内の石をリサーチしてからハンコを彫り、什器を作り、制作過程はほとんど石垣を離れて行いましたが、会期中に来場者の皆様のおかげで、石垣が目の前に積み上がってきました。

城跡で、またお会いしましょう。

Today marks the final day of the Shiroato Art Exhibition 2025. Thank you to everyone who came to Kameoka!

We chose stone walls as this year’s theme because we wanted to learn more about the Kameyama Castle ruins, a place we’ve grown familiar with over the past four years. After studying stones around Kameoka City, we carved stamps and built display stands. Although most of the creative process took place away from the castle site, thanks to everyone who visited the exhibition, the stone walls seemed to rise before our eyes.

We look forward to meeting you again at the castle ruins.

人はなぜ、石を積むのだろうか。それは、混沌への秩序、記憶への託し、自然への祈り、あるいは、崩れたものをもう一度つなぎとめたいという想い。

ここ亀山城の石垣は、築城から廃城、天災に破却、幾度も崩れ、そのたびに民衆の手で積みなおされ、四百年余のあいだ「解体と再生」の営みが繰り返されてきた。再建の過程を想像してみると、土に埋もれた刻印石、山から運ばれた大石、城下町や路地裏から集められた間詰石、城跡の石垣は、町と民衆の痕跡の集大成でもある。

そういう石たちをともに発見・記録し、スケッチや拓本から版を彫り、石垣の「解体と再生」を想像しながら積み上げていこう。

Why do people stack stones? Perhaps to bring order to chaos, to entrust memories, as prayer to nature, or to hold together what has fallen apart.

The stone walls of Kameyama Castle ruins have been dismantled and rebuilt countless times. They were ruined by disasters and restored by the hands of townspeople, in a cycle of disassembly and regeneration for over four centuries. Imagining that process, one finds carved stones buried in the ground, boulders hauled from the mountains, filler stones gathered from the castle town and back alleys. The walls themselves embody the collective traces of the town and its people.

We have observed and recorded such stones, and carved stamps from sketches and rubbings. With the disassembly and regeneration of the stone walls in mind, let us stack them anew.

城跡芸術展、今年も最終の週末を迎えました。会期はいつも長くもなく短くもない3週間で、最後の三日くらいになると、寂しくなります。

日頃の運営を担っているサポーターさんたちは、「心が動いた瞬間」というアルバムで、毎日会場で撮った写真を共有していらっしゃるそうです。その写真をのぞくと、展示室を照らした夕日、彫刻に乗っているカマキリなどが写っていて、細やかな日々の記録はまさに最高な鑑賞体験だと思います。

芸術をきっかけに、自然、場所、人が集って生き生きとしています。それが城跡芸術展ですかね。

The Shiroato Art Exhibition has again come to its final weekend. The exhibition period — never too long or too short — lasts three weeks, and as the final few days approach, I always feel a little sad.

I heard that volunteers who help with daily operations have been sharing photos taken at the venue in an album titled *“Heartfelt Moments.”* Looking through their photos, you’ll find scenes like the sunset lighting up the gallery, or a praying mantis perched on a sculpture. I think these are truly the best way to appreciate art.

Using the artworks as a backdrop, nature, venue, and people all come alive. That, I suppose, is what the Shiroato Art Exhibition is all about.

9月14日（石・いしの日）に、城跡芸術展の関連イベントとして、「まちの石描きハンコ団ーー石の日ハンコワークショップ」を開催し、皆さんと町中で石散歩しました。

展示会場の丹波亀山城跡・大本本部に参加者が集まり、亀山城のことを知り、石垣の積み方を観察し、そこから「石描きハンコ団」のメンバーたちが亀岡の町に自由散策しました。

「すっごく丸くてかわいい！」「この子は半分しかコケがついていないな」「こいつは潰されてつらそう！」普段身の回りにあるのに気づいていない石たちを発見できました。刻印石だけでなく、石垣を構成する石や路上の石たちは、それぞれの特徴があって、一つの世界に見えます。

気持ちいい季節に、石の散歩にお出かけはいかがでしょうか。

亀岡での展示は本日始まりました！

今回は、亀山城の石垣から着想を得て、石をイメージしたハンコで、来場者の皆様と一緒に紙の上に石垣を積み上げる作品を出品しています。

亀山城の石垣は幾度も崩れ、そのたびに民衆の手で積みなおされ、四百年余のあいだ「解体と再生」の営みが繰り返されてきました。再建の過程を想像してみると、土に埋もれた刻印石、山から運ばれた大石、城下町や路地裏から集められた間詰石、城跡の石垣は、町と民衆の痕跡の集大成でもあります。

亀山城の城下町にあたる亀岡市内で、このようなさまざまな石を観察・記録して、ハンコをたくさん彫りました。展示会場で絵巻にハンコを押したり、スタンプラリーのようにご自身の手帳に押すのも大歓迎です。ぜひ遊びにきてください！

嬉しいことに今年もケルビン とユニットとして、かめおか霧の芸術祭「城跡芸術展」に参加させていただいています！

この度は、亀山城跡の石垣からヒントを得て、石をテーマにした参加型作品を制作します。城内の石垣が長い歴史の中で、何度も破壊されては再建されました。亀岡の町を歩いてさまざま石を観察し、ハンコの形で再現してみました。展覧会でこれらのハンコを押して、私たちの石垣を積み上げていきましょう。

皆様の描いた絵からできたはがきセットの他に、巨大なはがきも２枚展示していました。

南島原市への寄贈作品として制作したので、あらかじめアクリル板に宛先をシルクスクリーンで刷っておきました。その上にさらに塩ビ板を重ね、来場者の皆様に自由に絵を描いていただきました。会期終了後、皆様の遊び心あふれる絵を２色に分け、シルクスクリーンで印刷しました。

ピンク／みどりで横書きの一枚は、南島原市に寄贈し、アートビレッジシラキノにて保管されています。今後展示される機会がありましたら、ぜひ足を運んでみてください。

Alongside the postcard sets made from everyone’s drawings, two oversized postcards were also on display.

Created as gifts for Minamishimabara City, each piece began with an address screen-printed in soft layers onto clear acrylic. Over this, a sheet of PVC was placed, allowing visitors to freely draw on them during the exhibition. After the event ended, the playful drawings contributed by everyone were separated into two colours and screen-printed.

The horizontal piece in pink and green was donated to Minamishimabara City and is now in the care of Art Village Shirakino. If it’s ever on display again, please take the chance to visit.
