2023年7月1日より、福岡アジア美術館が主催する特別企画展「水のアジア」を開催します！
開幕イベントとして、7月1日（土）の13時から出品作家５名によるアーティストトークを行います。
この夏はぜひ、アジアの水に関する作品を見ながら展示室で涼んでいただければ幸いです🍧
〈展覧会概要〉
『世界水泳選手権2023福岡大会記念展 水のアジア』
会期｜2023年7月1日（土）～9月3日（日）
会場｜福岡アジア美術館 アジアギャラリー（7階）
観覧時間｜9：30－18：00（金・土曜は20：00まで）※ギャラリー入室は閉室30分前まで
休館日｜7/5（水）、7/12（水）、8/30（水）の３日間のみ
観覧料｜一般1,000(800)円、高大生800(600)円、中学生以下無料

〈開催趣旨〉
世界水泳選手権2023 福岡大会を記念する本展では、海洋環境をテーマにした作品や、自然の脅威に向き合いながらも力強く生きる人々の姿を描いた作品、水、川、海などのイメージに作家自身のルーツや内面性を表現した作品など、13点の大型インスタレーションや映像作品などを紹介します。また世界水泳の開会式が行われるボートレース福岡会場には、台湾作家の安聖恵が手掛けた風が吹き抜ける魚の大型ベンチを置き、ゆっくりと海を眺められる憩いの場をつくります。
本展出品作家８名によって表現された「水」をめぐる多彩な作品を体感していただくことで、アジアの現代アートに触れる一歩となれば幸いです。

[Concept]
The people in Asia, living in a vast land with many mighty rivers and on islands floating in the ocean, have subsisted off the bounties of the sea and rivers. At the same time, they have been also exposed to natural threats.
In commemoration of the World Aquatics Championships 2023 Fukuoka, this exhibition introduces about 13 works inspired by the myth of water, depicting the natural ecosystem, reflecting various social issues on water, and expressing each artist’s memory of water. As for a recreation area for the public, a fish-shaped bench will be installed at the open lawn, Boat Race Fukuoka.
From Asian myth to contemporary social issues, the exhibition provides opportunities for people to be familiarized with Asian art and culture by exploring works with the theme of “Water.”
