This work was created by our trainee during her three-month training at Gansen Urushi Studio.
With no prior experience in urushi, she worked with great perseverance and completed an intensive program. Throughout the training, we shared many conversations about what it truly means to create.
Training Contents
●Fuki-urushi (wipe lacquer technique)
・a vessel and spoon she carved and brought with her,
・traditional Japanese bowl
●practice panel / Ro-iro polishing
●Kansh*tsu (dry lacquer technique)
・a lotus leaf object
・stone-letters object
●Kintsugi
●Urushi tapping experience
When learning something, imitation can be one effective approach.
Rather than focusing only on technique, the training emphasized imagination, creativity, and developing a personal relationship with urushi.
We do not follow a fixed curriculum. Each trainee brings their own background, direction, and way of engaging with the material.
We hope that the encounter between urushi and each individual continues to grow and spread beyond the studio.

研修生の が3ヶ月の研修で創り上げた作品です。
彼女は漆の経験は有りませんでしたが、とても粘り強く努力し、密度の高い研修を終えました。
作品を生み出すとはどの様な事か、たくさん話し合いました。
『研修内容』
●拭き漆（彼女が彫って持って来た器とスプーン、日本伝統のお椀）
●手板 呂色磨き（漆塗りの基本習得）
●乾漆 （蓮の葉オブジェ、石の手紙オブジェ）
●金継ぎの基礎
●漆掻き体験
何かを学ぶとき『模倣』は一つの手段です
その中でも技法習得のみにならず、自分自身でイメージする力や創造性を大切にする点を課題としました。
初めての経験ばかりで、質感や仕上がりが予想しづらく苦労していましたが、研修が終わる頃にはその困難の意味が伝わったと思います。
私達は、決まったカリキュラムを設けていません。
それぞれに背景、研修期間や学びに求めるベクトルが違うからです。
そして、漆に対する向き合い方も自由であってほしいと思うからです。
一人ひとりの研修生が持ち寄った個性と漆が出会い、願船漆工房の空気と共にその人の一部になって広がって行ってくれる事を願っています。
