Enjoy a photo tour of Takahan Inn's Onsen

From the lobby, go up the escalator with a gorgeous chandelier, and pass through the Kawabata Yasunari Museum, library space, and bathing area to find the large baths for men and women.

The women's large bathroom has an L-shaped bathtub in the corner of the large bathroom, with tatami mats in the front. The bathtub has light blue tiles and looks like a swimming pool, but the water is really nice😍💕.

It's a simple sulfur spring with a slight egg smell and a pH of 9.4, so the water is soft and slippery ♨️.

But! Only the women's bath has an outdoor bath. Although it is guarded, it is semi-open-air and has a nice atmosphere 🌿 When you look down, you can see the railroad tracks 🛤.

Takahan Inn in Timesless Yukiguni

Satoyama Jujo, perched on the side of a hill in Minami Uonuma is surrounded by unspoiled nature. Taking advantage of the abundance of snow, Satoyama Jujo has its very own snow room. The room's conditions are perfect for preserving vegetables and even storing fish. Produce held in this room is said to become sweeter and the fish, softer.

Every day at 4pm TIMELESS YUKIGUNI's Satoyama Jujo offers tours of this unique traditional storehouse.

A gorgeous sunny scene from atop TIMELESS YUKIGUNI’s iconic ryokan, Takahan. Located in Yuzawa, Takahan is one of the oldest operating lodgings in Japan. It has been run by the same family since the hot springs were discovered there more than 900 years ago.

The scenery surrounding TIMELESS YUKIGUNI'S Kaikake Onsen is absolutely spectacular right now. Known since the Edo Period as being beneficial for the eyes, Kaikake is a place of healing and relaxation. Their recent post echoes wishes for safe travel and a return to calm daily life, something we can hopefully all look forward to at some point this year:

"This snow scenery is 700m above sea level and can be enjoyed until mid April. Until our customer's daily life is calm and travel is easy, we will wait patiently. Nowadays we are advocating for sustainability and will continue to work hard with the hope that customers and those who use hot springs for medicinal purposes can enjoy a safe and fair stay."

They offer interactive tours designed to pass on the knowledge and charms of the area and facilitate meaningful meetings with the local people.
