Ulrich Saloga is at his fourth participation at the Florence Biennale after 2017, 2021 and 2023. He was born in 1957 in Werdohl, Germany. His art mostly combines sculptures and paintings. Like a music composer, he uses his lines as a melody and his different colors as different instruments. Bringing them together creates a harmony, but not for the ear but for the eye. The words are hidden in the paintings he interprets as a songtext for the eye. These words inspire him in his own life so he has to paint them.
The works he will exhibit at the Biennale 2025 are native-based, painted with iridescent colors, and very structured.

From finance to art, his love for numbers is evident in his artistic practice. Inspired by spirituality, he strives to create a universal visual language that highlights the dualities and interconnectedness in life. Born in Lebanon in 1981, he spent half his life in Canada. Later in life, a growing sensitivity to human expression sparked a profound period of self-discovery, allowing the artist within him to emerge in 2020. Self-taught, with guidance from a fellow artist and art historian (Gaby Maamari), his artistic journey began with charcoal portraits, evolving into surreal acrylic characters and eventually abstraction. In 2023, he participated in a collective exhibition in Beirut. His current work delves into the profundity of the square canvas, where balance and symmetry evoke stability and order. The circular form within integrates the material and spiritual worlds, embodying the duality of structure and fluidity, ultimately symbolizing the journey from the external world to the inner self.

Liliana Livneh is renowned for her “Caryatides” pillars from ancient Greece, this element from ancient architecture is the speaker of an inner language. Liliana depicts herself as “a reader”: she uses bare hands to smear the oil or pigment and the words designed burst from her paintings as a graphism sometimes illegible since is a gesture and a form, part of the esthetical whole. Her dialogues with poets and writers are another link to her Borgesian way of seeing reality in a universal way, and “a traveler “ (viajera) learning from the essence of each country and melting cultures.

Her work explores the idea of adaptability and how we exist under continual change. It aims to express a transitory nature by using shapes that are in a fragile balance, an interior or core. Each work is a quest to defy the force of gravity, shapes that are challenging to build in clay. Focused on how the material changes throughout the process imagining how they will overcome these stages against gravity without breaking. Her practice is based on creating pieces with an essence that can be redefined by others, that convey contrast and openness to understand how it would be possible to modify cultural references and show we transcend stereotypes to become only human.

Elisabetta Amoruso is a painter and performer who already participated in the XIV Florence Biennale 2023. She was born in Florence in 2000 and currently works in Paris.
With a background as a dancer and trained in visual art, she’s a multidisciplinary artist who moves through video art, performance, painting, and poetry facing through her QRCodes the trauma and suffering of the being, proposing her art as a cure for pain.
Her work is directed toward art therapy, focusing on the sensitisation, normalisation and analysis of the human emotions spectrum. Inside her empathetic works, she creates a journey of discovery, rebirth, and liberation by engaging the public in an internal dialogue, a great session of mass Art therapy in her own way, where the figure of patient and therapist alternates repeatedly between the artist and the viewer always marked by her unmistakable QRCodes who allows the viewer to decide whether to scan the artist's codes to see her, listen and understand her.

It is precisely in this act of empathy that the user goes unconsciously to welcome and accept not only the pain of the artist but also his own pain, and, from what may seem like a representation of the feelings of others, he immerses himself in deep inner analysis and sees himself in a mirror.
Her work “Pasta alla Norma” is currently exhibited at Biennale di Venezia Pavillion 29 in Forte Marghera.

Ankita is a multi-disciplinary designer currently pursuing her master's in New Media Design at the National Institute of Design, India. Her passion for art began as a child, where she loved to draw on or create from anything she could lay her hands on. Fueled by a drive to create and fascinated by technology as a medium to do so, her teenage years took her to study electronics engineering at the Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Mumbai. After completing her engineering degree, Ankita was drawn to the holistic approach of ‘making’ in design, prompting her to pursue a master's in New Media Design, a program that was the perfect confluence of her interests in art and technology.

Her work now focuses on the intersection of aesthetics and functionality, often involving interactive media, phygital storytelling, and user experience design. Ankita's approach is both thoughtful and experimental, constantly seeking speculative, innovative and impactful experiences that add meaning to people’s lives. She likes to explore the interplay between objects and people, and shape the experiences that elevate these interactions. As part of her graduation project, she worked with the Indian Institute of Science (IIsc), Bangalore to design an ecosystem of interfaces for ‘Lifebox’, a heart-preservation device aimed at improving the current scenario of heart transplants in India.
