Bapi Sanjit

Bapi Sanjit Myself Hello friends
Let me take the opportunity to introduce myself. I m 54 & residing in Utsa Condoville Newtown since 2006. I had B.Sc. from Vidyasagar College.

My place of birth is Shillong and born on 10.2.1958. My Dad Sachindra and Mom Sefali repatriated from Sylhet, Bangladesh and got settled in India during 50s. I have a younger sister Monika and brother Sanjoy. Initially my dad started career as an Army para medical staff and later he joined Survey of India as surveyor. We hailed Kolkata in 1959 when my dad had been transferred by his office. He re

nted a room in Parkcircus area. There we had a massive accident when a huge brick wall collapsed on our asbestos roofed house. I and my little sister escaped but our parents were hospitalized in serious condition. For god’s sake our parents got survived after a long medical treatment. We then shifted to a house at Linton Street. In 1963 we shifted to a house at Creek Row. In 1967 we again shifted to Park Circus near Gobra burial ground. Later in 1968 we shifted to a Govt.quater in Phoolbagan. After a long stay of 38 years at Phoolbagan in 2006 I owned a flat at Newtown Utsa Condoville and have been staying till date. My schooling in primary level was in Metropolitan Institution. Later I had my Higher Secondary from Dr. SP Mukherjee Institution in 1974. Meanwhile in 1977 I joined in Indian Air Force as Ground Engineer Airman. I had a dream to be an Aircraft Pilot. Since I could not succeed I quit IAF and resumed study. After graduation in 1979 I had the certificate courses of Television, VCR, Computer Hardware. In 1983 I joined Defence Accounts Department as an Auditor. Beside my office duty I have been continuing Electronics services which I enjoy as an amateur technician. My hobbies are Social service, singing, painting and sculpture. In 1976 I did a sculpture of work Saraswati Idol. The idol was made by Charcoal and worshiped in the community. That was first time that Charcoal was used to make an idol. During my stay in Phoolbagan I brought several new themes and ideas to construct pandels for pujas. In 2007 my Durga Puja theme of pandal at Utsa was packs of playing cards. The entire pandel was decorated with playing cards. Goddess Durga and Mahishasura given were shapes of queen and king respectively. In 2012 my Durga Puja theme in Newtown Utsa is CD (compact disc) Durga. Work started during last week of August 2012. Probably this is the first time CDs are used to make an idol. Main advantage of making CD idol is low material cost and gorgeous display. Moreover using of rejected CDs in sculpture and decoration is environment friendly. Rejected RW CD may be recycled to decorative purpose rather than polluting the environment.
