11th of September 1893,Parliament of Religions was organised in conjunction with columbian exposition at Art Institute of Chicago ,USA. The Parliament opened with International representatives of the world's religions present . Representing Hindu Dharma Swami Vivekananda ,riveted the audience with his call for Religious tolerance and an end to fanaticism .Over the next several weeks, thousand of a

ttendees came to hear Swami Vivekananda and other leaders ,making the Parliament a watershed moment of interfaith dialogue .

'Universal Brotherhood Day' ,is celebrated by Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari to commemorate the epoch making speech of Swami Vivekananda at Chicago.This assumes more significance at a time when civil unrest and religious fundamentalism have evolved to a stage where it appears to be threatening the very existence of civil society .Hence, it has become a necessity to reassert the unparalleled synthesis that we call 'BHARAT'..The purpose of the event is to re-kindle the idea of Brotherhood and make it a part of every day living. Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Branch Delhi is organizing a three day residential camp from 24- 26th Feb 2017 at Vivekananda International Foundation. It will focus on comprehensive development of mind, body, soul through various activities like Yoga, group discussions,games,lectures etc.The contribution fee is Rs 300 for students and Rs 500 for working individuals. Lets us all be the part of Man making - Nation building process to actualize the vision of Swami Vivekananda.
