Telangana Photographic Society - TPS

Telangana Photographic Society - TPS Telangana Photographic Society (TPS), formerly Andhra Pradesh Photographic Society (APPS), estd. 1957 is a registered society to promote photography.

About Telangana Photographic Society :
Telangana Photographic Society (TPS), formerly known as the Andhra Pradesh Photographic Society (APPS), was founded by Raja Tryambaka Raj and his friends in 1957 to promote the art and science of photography. TPS is currently the only registered society in Telangana State, wholly dedicated to photography. Since its inception the society has done tremendous se

rvice to promoting photography. TPS has a firm belief in the philosophy that knowledge not shared is knowledge lost. To further this principle, TPS regularly conducts workshops and photographic outings for its members. Most of these are conducted by the learned members of the Society itself. Several courses are also conducted to introduce photography to the newcomers in this field. It is not an exaggeration to say that at least a few hundred young men and women were initiated to the wonderful world of photography by the Society. The Society also conducts regular competitions for its members to enable them to hone their artistic and technical skills. TPS has also conducted numerous salons at both the national and state level. About Galleria :
Galleria is the annual photography exhibition conducted by the society featuring the best photographic work of its members. It is always conducted on a large scale with the average participation of approximately 50 photograpers every year. The exhibition is traditionally opened on the 19th of August, the World Photography Day. In the past it has been held in various notable exhibition spaces in the twin cities such as Muse Art Gallery and State Art Gallery. This year, Galleria 2016 will be held at the IICR Gallery, Ravindra Bharati campus.
