Artisan cards play a vital role in empowering women entrepreneurs by providing them with official recognition as skilled artisans. These cards help women access government schemes, training opportunities, financial support, market linkages, exhibitions, and social security benefits. Additionally, artisan cards enhance the credibility of women producers, enabling them to expand their businesses and strengthen their economic independence. To support and recognize the skills of women entrepreneurs, artisan cards were distributed among eligible participants of digital upskilling project, enabling them to access various livelihood opportunities and government support services for sustainable economic development. The entire process of artisan card application was facilitated through Amar Kutir. Even though the project was completed in February, the artisan cards that were approved from DC was distributed to the participants.

A day filled with fragrance, creativity, and a little bit of everyday magic!

On 21st February 2026, a hands-on Soap Making Workshop was conducted by Mrs. Sabeena Sunil, bringing together 11 enthusiastic participants from Kolkata, the Sundarbans, and other parts of West Bengal.
From learning the basics of natural soap crafting to experimenting with ingredients, the session turned into a delightful blend of skill and creativity. Participants explored making different varieties such as Hibiscus Soap, Ayurvedic Soap, and other nourishing formulations.
The most satisfying moment? ✨
Everyone crafted a soap of their own and carried their handmade creation back home — a small bar of care, knowledge, and self-made joy.
Workshops like these remind us how simple ingredients, guided learning, and shared enthusiasm can create something truly beautiful. 🌺

In the Bangla month of Magh, while the winter still lingers and spring is in the air, we celebrated the stories of women entrepreneurs through a Buyer-Seller Meet powered by Nasscom Foundation on 14th & 15th of February 2026. A total number of 34 Women Entrepreneurs travelling all the way from various nooks and corners of rural Bengal proudly participated in this unique event where close to 150 buyers actively engaged in this two days event. Diverse in crafts and technique, the journey of each entrepreneur in this path has been inspiring and sometimes larger than life.

Overcoming challenges visible and invisible, owning up their identity as a woman entrepreneur with the help of digital advancements became the highlight of the event. The two days Buyer-Seller Meet were an opportunity for the participants to explore markets, networking and establish negotiating skills as an entrepreneur. The digital components like MeraBills invoice generation, cashless transactions, distribution of business cards and formalization through Artisan cards were pivotal in making this event a monumental one in the journey of women entrepreneurs.
