Thank you to everyone who visited us last weekend for the Old Head of Kinsale Lighthouse Open Weekend! We were delighted with the beautiful weather and great turnout. This is a crucial fundraiser for our museum, a non profit community project, so we really appreciate the support. 🩵

👏🏼 A special thank you to Alan Boyers, the Attendant at the Old Head of Kinsale Lighthouse, for his continued support and for sharing his knowledge and experiences with visitors.

👏🏼We are extremely grateful to all of the volunteers and stewards, who so generously gave their time to keep everything running smoothly, make sure everyone was safe and having a good time. We have been running the open weekends since 2013 and are so lucky that we can count on the local community for support.

👏🏼 Thank you to Photographer Michaelpriorphotography for setting up a stall at the Lighthouse; the shuttle bus operators for getting everyone to and from the lighthouse safely; and to the Old Head/Seven Heads Coast Guard and Kinsale RNLI for joining us throughout the weekend to promote water safety.

We are looking forward to the final open weekend of the year taking place on the last weekend of August - 29th and 30th of August. See you then!🩵

🚨 RARE OPENING THIS WEEKEND IN CORK 🌊🏰✨

For most of the year, it’s completely off-limits… 👀
But THIS weekend, visitors will get a chance to step inside one of Cork’s most breathtaking landmarks — the iconic Old Head of Kinsale Lighthouse 🇮🇪⚓

📍 Thanks to special permission from Old Head Golf Links ⛳ and the Commissioners of Irish Lights 💡, TWO exclusive open days will take place:

🗓 Saturday, May 23rd
🗓 Sunday, May 24th

There is no need to pre-book; just show up on the day. Tickets are €15 per adult, €40 for a family, and it does get busy, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

• Sunday 24th May

🕑 Shuttle Buses will run from the Old Head Signal Tower to the Old Head Lighthouse throughout both days:
• First Bus at 9:30am
• Last Bus at 5pm

🎟️ Ticket prices include admission to the Lusitania Museum & Old Head Signal Tower, return journey on the shuttle bus and admission to the Old Head of Kinsale Lighthouse:
- Adults €15
- Family €40

🚗 Parking will be available at the Old Head Signal Tower - no vehicles/walkers permitted through the Golf Course. Disabled access to Lighthouse Grounds by request. Guide Dogs Only.

‼️ No need to pre-book, just show up on the day. Please note however the Old Head of Kinsale Lighthouse Open Days always generate considerable interest - we strongly recommend you arrive early to avoid disappointment.

☕️ will be open throughout the weekend, with refreshments also available at the Lighthouse Grounds.
