Beautiful little crisp morning in Donegal Town!
Just look at the colours of that tree in the Diamond!

The day I opened the gallery earlier this year Paola made me sit down for an interview all things photography. As you can hear from her questions, she took the job very seriously and managed to get me into a video longer than thirty seconds long.

Hopefully give people an insight into the process among other things.

Finally… we’re getting somewhere!

After months of research, sample prints, different papers, sample packs and a lot of going back and forth, I’ve finally committed to the paper I’ll be using for my limited edition prints.

It might not sound like the most exciting milestone, but choosing the right paper is a big part of the process. For me, archival quality and longevity had to come first, while still finding a surface that really does justice to the photographs.

So, that decision is finally made.

Now I can move on to the fun part, narrowing down the final images, working through the sizes and editions, and actually starting to produce them.

It’s been a long process getting to this point, but I’m really happy with where it’s heading.

The limited editions are finally coming together.

If anyone has any questions feel free to drop me a PM.

There is more on offer than just large center pieces.

These are two of the more popular sizes, the two smallest on offer. A4 & A3 prints framed.

Something for everyone.

A Tale of Two Halves

A usual week for me looks a little something like this…

Half the week in the workshop, half the week in the gallery.

From printing, mounting and framing orders to opening the doors of Fine Eye Gallery in Donegal Town, there’s a lot that happens behind the scenes before one of my photographs makes it onto a wall.

I love being able to see the whole process through, from standing on a coastline with a camera in hand, to printing the image, building the frame and finally seeing it hanging in the gallery.

It can be a busy way of working, but having control over every part of the process is something I really value. And there’s something pretty satisfying about seeing a finished piece come together after all the work that goes into it.

Two halves of the same job.

Workshop → Gallery → Repeat.

Never posted these images before. Some closer details of the humpbacks that grace our waters.

Still one of the most enjoyable days in Donegal Bay.

Had always thought of making the bottom image a limited edition print.
