Cai Zhisong's "Rose" series is now in Bangkok.

Handcrafted from stainless steel and lead, these seemingly delicate roses reflect the artist's view on love, something that is beautiful and captivating as it is dangerous, just like the ancient metal they're made from: soft and fragile, yet heavy and toxic.

Every petal is shaped by the artist's own hand, showcasing the beauty of cold metal and soft fragility coexisting. The Rose sculptures are gently suspended like a painting that breathes life, contrasting with the firmness of traditional stainless steel sculptures.

See the beauty of the "Rose" series, together with "Homeland" and "Reflection," now on view in Bangkok at Cai Zhisong's "Spring Light" Exhibition.

Cai Zhisong’s Homeland series is rooted in classical Chinese aesthetics, but it took real dedication to bring it to life. He traveled to Zhalong Nature Reserve to study red-crowned cranes. He even bought a pair of sika deer from a farm. That’s the kind of dedication behind this work.

In traditional Chinese culture, cranes and deer represent spirituality, good fortune, and peace. They appear often in classical painting and sculpture as joyful subjects. But in Homeland, this elegance meets with a sense of longing beneath the surface.

Alongside the Homeland series, a tiger stands with quiet irony. Unlike the gentle cranes and deer, the tiger carries a different weight — power, guardianship, and a subtle tension that lingers.

The Homeland series is now part of 「Spring Light 春光」 in Bangkok.

What does rhythm mean in this exhibition?

In Rhythm, Relation, Resilience, rhythm is not about tempo or sound.

It is about how we identify, adjust, respond, and resist, within relationships, within society, and within ourselves. Rhythm becomes a way of positioning: between tension and intimacy, memory and the present, the self and the world around us.
The leading artist Farhan S**i, drawing from urban symbols, pop imagery, and fragments of everyday culture, his works unfold through collision and counterpoint. Sharp lines, layered texts, and bold surfaces register the pressures of consumerism, global crisis, and contemporary urban life.

Where do we stand within these relations?

Rhythm, Relation, Resilience

Rooted in a post-impressionist lineage and deeply informed by Malaysian printmaking traditions, Raduan Man’s paintings on wood pulse with layered colour and repetition.

From lush wilderness to cultivated gardens and suspended seascapes, these paintings dissolve the boundary between interior refuge and open world, revealing landscapes shaped as much by memory as by place.

Raduan constructs spaces of emotional intimacy where relation becomes visible and resilience emerges softly, persistently, through beauty.

Love that has its own rhythm 🎶

In Raduan Man’s paintings, rhythm is not about speed or repetition. It is about the quiet negotiations that take place within closeness, the hesitation before a touch, the echo of a memory, the space between two people.

His rhythm unfolds through layers. Each stroke is a gesture revisited, softened, or reasserted. Color builds not to overwhelm, but to hold time. This is rhythm as emotional pacing: the slow sedimentation of feeling, the push and pull of intimacy that never fully resolves.

Where others might depict love as a declaration, Raduan renders it as a tide, constant, shifting, and inward. His works linger. In that lingering, rhythm becomes a form of listening, to the self, to the other, to what remains unspoken.

Within the larger conversation of Rhythm, Relation, Resilience Exhibition, Raduan’s voice offers not collision, but resonance. Not resistance, but return.
