Looking for someone special!

HIRING!
Are you ready to lead the conversation between global ceramics and the heart of Chinese tradition? PWS Ceramic Hub in Jingdezhen is seeking a visionary, internationally-minded leader to become our Manager of Education and International Residencies.

PWS is not just a studio; it is a sprawling "Complete Ceramics Ecosystem" in the Porcelain Capital of the World.

The Mission: We need an educational leader from overseas to standardise our educational offerings and act as the creative bridge to global institutions.

You are the Director of the 1000 m² Education Center. Your job is to create exceptional curricula, arrange classes with legendary local masters, and forge partnerships with global universities to bring student groups to Jingdezhen.

Additionally, you are the Artistic Anchor for our International Residency. You will guide programming, critiques, and curatorial themes for the residency, ensuring that visiting artists are supported creatively and engaged in the dynamic life of the Education Center.

Who are you? You are a seasoned ceramicist or educational administrator with 3+ years of experience leading arts programming. You have technical mastery of ceramics, a passion for pedagogical structure, and the networking chops to build international partnerships. You don't need to speak Mandarin, but you must have a clear artistic and educational vision. You are supported by a full-time Admin Assistant and a Studio Tech.

Welcome old friend Kurt Chan to Jingdezhen!

Wonderful to have Alan Chan visit Jingdezhen Pottery Workshop today. He picked three of his favourite work, gave advice to aspiring young makers, visited studios and galleries and had pizza in the cafe. AND posed in front of Yi Design’s ceramic waste collection pile!

Class Announcement:

4.27-5.08 Hand Building in Vessel and Sculptures（Instructor：Sun Xiaobo）

Handbuilding is one of the oldest and most widely used forming techniques. Using the hands to directly engage with clay—through pinching, pressing, paddling, and shaping—creates surfaces rich with tactile traces unique to this method. It allows for freedom of form while building an intimate relationship between maker and material.

This foundational course is taught by a rotating group of instructors with diverse styles and approaches, each bringing deep knowledge and experience. The aim is to expose students to a wide range of handbuilding practices.
