Volunteer with us!

We are always looking for volunteers to help at the Heritage Centre Museum, to “man” the desk, greet visitors, provide information when required and handle sales from the shop.

INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING AT THE WOBURN HERITAGE CENTRE? - If you would like to volunteer with us, please email

[email protected]

We are open from April 1 to September 30 and at weekends only in October. The museum is closed from November to March.

Opening hours are
Wednesdays to Fridays: 2pm - 4.30pm
Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holidays: 10am-5pm
Mondays and Tuesdays: CLOSED

At present we have 19 volunteers who either have a regular spot on the rota or fill in where necessary. During our closed season, we keep in touch and every February, Gill our chairman, hosts a lunch for all the volunteers when we can catch up and plan for the coming season.

George Large painting - one of many treasures of our collection.

George Large was born in Islington in 1936, studied at Hornsey School of Art, and is a member of the Royal Society of British Artists.

We are fortunate to have one of his paintings on display. And it is also a special one. Why? People are an important part of all Large’s paintings but this painting is different. He always said that our painting was the only one he had ever done with no people in it.

He has held several solo exhibitions and was commissioned to do a mural for Kings Cross Thameslink Station.
