The National Garden Scheme gives visitors unique access to over 3,500 exceptional private gardens in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, and raises impressive amounts of money for nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cake.
Thanks to the generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors have donated over £67 million to nursing and health charities and in 2022 made an annual donation of £3.11 million. The core beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.
The National Garden Scheme doesn’t just open beautiful gardens for charity – they are passionate about the physical and mental health benefits of gardens too. They also support charities doing amazing work in gardens and health and grant bursaries to help community gardening projects.

Wednesday 3rd July, 12-4:30pm
Our Natural History Museum is a just a walk from Eton High Street.
ACTIVITY WEEK!!! Snake race! - cut a strip and do an accordion fold. Cut to a shape, I'd do a rectangle or oval. Colour your snake adding patterns and such. Then race your snakes using a straw to move it.
Create a tournament and see who's the best snake racer.
Find photos of snakes and try to copy their camouflage to make your snake the best in the wild.
When we reopen make sure you come and see some snakes down at Eton's Natural History Museum.

Come along and find out more about roman coins, ancient tools and classic pottery!
We are open this afternoon until 5pm - it's a beautiful sunny Sunday to come and explore our three museums! We have lots of activities for families and children and plenty to explore.
It's been great fun to meet local families in the Museum of Antiquities today, many thanks to our visitors for letting us share a photo of these boys working hard on an Ancient Egypt themed crossword!
It's been a fantastic day at the college, with hundreds of visitors to the gardens and Natural History museum and Museum of Eton Life, in aid of nursing and carers charities as part of National Open Garden Scheme
The silver gilt model of Eton College Chapel has had attention from Eton College Conservation to remove the tarnish, making it ready for its new home in the museum.
The model looks fantastic in its new case, offering visitors the chance to see all sides of the Chapel and see many details that were hidden in its previous case.
We hope you enjoy seeing the model up close!
Operation Ozymandias
The latest addition to our Museum of Antiquities! The feet of Ozymandias: Red granite statue base of god Osiris, inscribed with the cartouches of Ramesses II (c. 1303 - 1213 BC).
