Having fun in acrylic class this week with a few different approaches.
The first painting started off as a demo in brushstrokes for water then I slapped on the two ducks when the background was dry. 2nd painting demo was quite carefully drawn out leaving the background unpainted for the white ducks.
Neither of these paintings are in any way complete.. Just showing different approaches🙂..it's that 'do you paint light on dark colours or dark on light' debate🤔😂

I've had a great time doing art classes this year - meeting lovely people along the way, so thank you to everyone who 'books in'. It's much appreciated and I can't say how much it pleases me to see folk improve in such a short space of time whether it's just in confidence, technique or getting to grips with materials.

Acrylic class ended well yesterday with the completion of paintings.. I didn't photo them all apologies🙈.

My watercolour class pulled out all the stops today to complete their 4 weeks by sketching/painting tulips, looking at shape, colour, form, and dealing with tricky/moving shadows!! We all said how difficult a subject it was..

I just popped into the studio a minute ago and found our tulips like this.. Made me laugh out loud..bought them at half eight this morning. They've had a busy day😂

New 4 week acrylic course and watercolour starts next week.

ART CLASSES
Acrylic art class starts Monday 2nd June, 10:30am - 12:30pm, runs for 4 Weeks every Monday £150.

Watercolour Art Class starts Tuesday 3rd June, 10am - 12pm. Runs for 4 weeks every Tuesday £150.

Beginners and improvers welcome.
Looking at different techniques and subject matter, we'll aim to complete a painting or two. 🎨🙂
All materials and refreshments provided.

Classes are 5 minutes drive from Strathaven in rural studio/gallery.

It was week 4 of my Acrylic class today and this is one of the pieces being finished off. I'm so chuffed and think Vivienne was too! My other lovely pupil couldn't make it today but her piece is also very impressive 🙂
If you want to try your hand at producing a finished piece in watercolour, acrylic or pastels just get in touch.

WATERCOLOUR CLASS
Starts this Wednesday 7th May.
10:30am - 12:30pm
It runs for 4 weeks (2hours per session)

It's my favourite time of year when I can watch swifts and swallows skimming past the studio and into the outbuildings.. They are busy, busy, busy!
Prints of 'the swallows are back' will go up to The Heron Farm Shop & Kitchen and I'll have some with me at Creative Strathaven CIC Spring Fling on the 4th May along with a few original paintings and new Pottery pieces. 🙂
