Bob is a surveyor and Sharon is an architect. They are checking out the materials for a new gallery space and planning installation and building works. Sharon is heavily inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright but Bob worries about the structural integrity of a cantilever roof. Nothing beats at at Christmas. Thank you for making them our size. .

ELAINE LUTHER – TINY CATS WITH TEA AND CAKE, AND IN OTHER UNEXPECTED SITUATIONS
“For my 100 Day Project, I took hundreds of photos with miniatures, along with empty spools of thread, with text fragments wrapped around them. I decided I didn’t want people in them, largely because most dollhouse dolls look weird, but the photos needed something alive in them, so I began trying out miniature cats, birds, dogs and bunnies. The cats worked best. The birds worked well too, but I tried not to put the cats and birds together in the same scene. I thought the cat staffers would enjoy this show of portraits of fellow tiny cats. Some of them bear a striking resemblance to the staffers at the Tiny Cat Gallery.”

We are a gathering of those who run Micro Galleries or are run by them.

Our aim is to exhibit art as part of a narrative that includes unusual audiences and locations.

A Micro Gallery is a space that isn’t a typical gallery but somewhat functions like one.

There is no set limit to the scale of a Micro Gallery nor is there a limit to the amount one can own, or the size of the work displayed (if it fits it sits).

Micro refers to the size of the gallery, not the size of the work. It may also be called a Tiny, Small, Miniature or Mini gallery.

Introducing the Tiny Cat Gallery Film Club!

Open Call

Have you made a short film you think the micro gallery community would like?
It could be stop motion, drawn and animated, computer generated or filmed.
It might be a tiny gallery tour or something about small artworks.
We like films that feature cats in a lead role as we are generally under represented.
We may be interested in mouse related cookery shows, films that feature warm places to sleep or documentaries about successful ways to annoy humans.

Ideally your film will be on IGTV so it can be shared on Instagram. If it is on a different platform we will talk to you about how best to share your work.

Message us a link and a little bit about the film.
If we like it we will share it. We are doing this for fun, not for money.
Now where is the mouse flavouring for the popcorn?

The Tiny Art Gallery Manual has reached the top 50 Best Sellers in Business of Art.
Huge thanks to the 5 lovely people who rated the book and left fantastic reviews! It was a lot of fun and a huge amount of work in equal measures. I am very indebted to who cast her expert eagle eye over it before it went to print.

The community is just gorgeous. It is supportive, nurturing and generous. I have learnt so much running .cat.gallery and even more from other curators.

Think small! Think inside the box!

The International Space Station, orbiting the earth

I’m currently exhibiting work .cat.gallery that is part of ongoing research into parallels and interplay between outer-space and religious imagery. I focus in particular on animal astronauts and the souvenirs that were produced around them.

This is one of the highlights of Quarantine for me - winning the Quaranteeny Art Show! 🖼 Last month I entered the contest along with a TON of super talented people, had a fantastic time making tiny art and setting up a to-scale gallery in my kitchen, and then to top it all off, I won first place. 🏆 My trophy arrived in the mail today, along with some fabulous art, mini frames, and other cool tiny loot! 😁 Here’s a recap of this happy thing that happened during this really weird time. 🎉 Thank you again for everything •

Albany, New York

“Murmurs and Whispers”... this show captures so much energy from the sea, and it’s a peculiar balance between feeling calm and noiseless- yet also implying a roaring of waves and wind... or maybe we’ve been quarantined too long 😉
In Adelia Roberts’s words: “I have always admired the honest and defiant nature of the sea. It has the ability to be simultaneously vigorous and calm, hazardous yet nurturing. This body of work captures the language of the ocean, freezing a moment in time, giving importance to the discarded mark. Each gesture, intentional and articulate, embraces the temporarily tangible rhythm of its breath. Standing on the shore, looking at the vast restless sea, you immediately start negotiating scale and inherently negotiating time and space, and your place within it. We are marveled by its mystery, still it’s constantly changing just as we are.”

Ladies and gentlemen CBM galleries its proud to present a very special show this evening Curiosity &Conversation by Skye Williams .fineart as it is officially the 10th show

The works on display ( literally the whole inside of gallery) are also title Curiosity & Conversation.

I thoroughly enjoy making shows that allow people to exhibit work in a way that if done in a large gallery would either cost a fortune or get restricted. You want to draw all over the walls and wooden floor no problem. I also

So don't forget to check out Syke's page
And as always get your self a glass of wine or a beer and enjoy the show this calls for rum. Once your done here head on over to .cat.gallery and .open.dresser.gallery for two fantastic shows get you some culture

We've had a very busy first day with a record number of visitors and a few philosophical questions to ponder over night.

So much to concider and lessons learnt to take on to future shows.

Do come back tomorrow, when we'll be continuing our tour of these very different works and how they might relate to each other in this gallery space.

Sevenoaks, Kent

This morning's tour starts with a 3D textile sculpture by Sue Evans.

Three individual sculptures, which I was allowed the opportunity as a curator to manipulate and place in this fragile position.

Sue's 3D work revolves arround textiles and fabric.

Fabric has an independent quality and efforts to control it can often end in unexpected ripples, folds and slumps. It can be risky and unpredictable. This tendency she likes to use as a metaphor for the theme of uncertainty, faith, belief and doubt that is the springboard for her work. Reliable geometric shapes find themselves in a state of disintegration or collapse.

________
After studying Fine Art as a mature student Sue has enjoyed developing 3D work using textile materials and threads as mark making material for wall based work.

Do check out her most recent work
