A smidge under 200 postcards (192 to be exact) delivered today to at South Queensferry, Scotland.

And of course the bridges across the River Forth are the theme of the four individual designs dropped off (second image), as Port Edgar has quite possibly the best views of the bridges.

MARKET DAY TODAY at on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Falkland, Fife.
It’s on at the stable buildings between 12 and 4pm.

You find me and a dozen-or-so other talented crafters, makers and designers with our original hand crafted gifts and goodies. I’ll have my original prints 🖼️ postcards, mugs, tea towels, coasters and cushions on sale, with a good selection that are ideal as Father’s Day gifts 🎁. Hope to see you there!!! 😁

You’ve probably heard of the great fire of London, but have you heard of the great fire of Dunfermline?

It happened exactly 400 years ago today - 25th May 1624. And although Dunfermline was much smaller than it is today, the fire destroyed most of the town and left only a handful of buildings standing.

Records show that the fire was started by a misfired musket during a military inspection, and the wayward shot set fire to one of the many thatched roofs in the town. Strong stormy winds on the day whipped up the flames, and within the space of about four hours the town was mostly destroyed.

The handful of buildings that survived included Dunfermline Abbey and Abbot House - both of which survive today in all their glory - and are both featured in two of my travel posters.

Dunfermline was eventually rebuilt thanks to donations from many parishes across Scotland, and a large personal donation from the then Prince Charles (later to become King Charles I) who was born in the town.

Next Sunday - 28th April, I’ll be at the monthly Makers and Producers Market at , Falkland, Fife, with my stall of original travel and transport themed prints, postcards, mugs and coasters.

The market will have stalls indoors and outdoors at The Stables, which is a few minutes walk from the centre of Falkland. There’s parking close by, and an on-site cafe too.

The market is on from 12 until 4pm.

This was yesterday evening after a day of torrential rain.

A rainbow at the end of the day would’ve been nice, but the Millennium Bridge over the River Tyne was doing its very best to add a bit colour to a miserable day 🌈

No, this isn’t a giant suspended Easter egg, but the historic mooring buoy that’s situated on the banks of the river Forth at Bo’ness, Scotland.

The buoy is approximately 200 years old, and was designed by the famous Isambard Kingdom Brunel. It was retrieved from the harbour and restored a few years ago.

And this unusual installation is the subject of my newest poster print (second image). This, and many other poster prints can be found on my website and also on my Etsy shop (links in bio).

One of two of the Royal Navy’s largest vessels - HMS Queen Elizabeth docked at Rosyth on the river Forth earlier today. The aircraft carrier is there having a repair done to its propeller.

There were quite a lot of police cars in the area keeping an eye on things. So if for some reason you need a police response in this part of Fife while the carrier is here, don’t hold your breath.

I’ve gone all primary colours with my newest poster design. This is my original design of a colourful Anstruther, Fife.

Opened on this day in 1890 - it’s a happy birthday to the Forth Bridge, Scotland.

It’s amazing to think that this magnificent structure is 134 years old! And it’s as busy as ever, with approximately 200 trains crossing the bridge between Edinburgh and Fife every day.

Opened this day in 1982 - the Barbican Centre in central London.

I remember being at a party at the very top floors of one of the three towers (I think it was the Shakespeare Tower) and the views were amazing. Although some would say that the views from the Barbican are better than those towards it. And 42 years on, it’s still dividing opinion today.

But I definitely think it’s worthy of its own poster.

I’ll be at my final Christmas market of the year today, 17th December, at the Falkland Estate, Falkland, held within The Stables (I can’t guarantee baby Jesus will make an appearance 🤣) from 12 to 4pm.

But I can guarantee 15 wise stall holders bearing many original and hand crafted gifts for last-minute Christmas presents.
