Something very exciting is coming to Strawberry Hill House. From the Sunday 23rd until Wednesday 26th June, Strawberry Hill House will be transformed through the talents of more than 30 local floral designers. The Strawberry Hill Flower Festival will celebrate the very best of British flowers and the enormous talent behind the design and cultivation of the floral industry in the UK.
British flowers are having a resurgence and The Strawberry Hill Festival of Flowers is celebrating a new sustainable floristry by inviting florists and growers to create arrangements that reflect Horace Walpole’s ideas about design.
Florists include Fiona Pickles of Firenza listed by The Telegraph as one of the Top 20 creative florists in the country and Creative Director for the 2018 Castle Howard Flower Festival, Claire Bowen of Honeysuckle and Hilda, floral designer, art historian and environmental campaigner, Brigitte Girling of Moss and Stone Floral Design, floral designer Leigh Chappell, visual storyteller and designer Janne Ford and local flower farmer and floral designer, Sarah Whiting; all with sustainability at the heart of their practice.
On Monday 24th June, join us for a very special evening of specialist talks from artisan flower grower and florist Sarah Whiting of Nettlewood Flowers talking about working with flowers from seed to bouquet and author and teacher Claire Bowen, of Honeysuckle and Hilda who will speak about environmentally sustainable floristry including foam free techniques. The evening will also include a bespoke tour from our resident garden historian, Sandra Pullen.
The Strawberry Hill Flower Festival will also be available from the 23rd-26th June and entry is included in your admission ticket.
Tickets for the evening event start at £16 and are available to be booked now via our website or by calling us directly on 020 8744 1241. For more information, please visit www.strawberryhillhouse.org.uk/flower-festival
