We’re ready! 🙌

In just 2 hours, students from 11 schools across Cornwall will be arriving to take part in the Cornwall Schools Mining Games 2026.

This is my third year being involved with the Games, and I can’t wait to see the incredible teamwork, resilience, communication and determination on display throughout the day. These are not only essential skills for the competition, but also valuable skills that will support young people in their future careers.

Most of all, I’m looking forward to seeing hundreds of happy, smiling faces as different generations come together to celebrate Cornwall’s rich mining heritage.

Good luck to all the teams – let’s make it another fantastic day! ⛏️🏆
