I’ve just found these lovely blue and white tiles buried at the back of the barn. I’d completely forgotten about them! We brought them back from Spain years ago but never found quite the right place for them. Shall definitely use them in the new house somewhere. I love colourful tiles and will be sad to leave these others behind!

There’s something rather comforting about old wood isn’t there. We had these really solid doors made by a chap who used old building boards and they worked out so well. The latches are Suffolk latches that are really nice to grasp. Just another thing I’m noticing all over again!

Strange white pyramids have appeared in the landscape view from my bedroom window! Slide for normal views at different times.
I shall so miss this view, it changes all the time. This one is the start of Grand Prix madness!
Only 2 more weeks of this special place. It’s going to be so sad to leave. However I’m too immersed in packing boxes to worry right now!

You may be wondering why I am posting a photo of my fridge🤔. It’s because very soon I will have to say goodbye to it. In approximately one month we shall be moving house and I’m beginning to really notice all the things I will miss. My Smeg fridge is one of them. How daft is that?
I remember standing in front of a row of fridge/freezers in the store 20 years ago and trying to make a ‘sensible decision’. Many had loads of capacity and all the latest gadgets - crushed ice dispensers etc - that I knew my then teenage children would like, but I kept returning to this gentle looking cream machine which had no bells and whistles and was more expensive than most of them! In the end I thought “I have to look at this machine every day of my life and I want one that will give me pleasure every time I do”. And it has!

It’s difficult to get into the studio atm as there’s so much to do in the garden now we have some dry weather. Pruning, planting, seed sowing………why does it all come at once?! Anyway here’s a Spring Success: These tulips () look like strawberries and cream and look great against the newly pointed stone and colour of the new porch ( cleverly constructed from scratch by himself😳 he never ceases to amaze me with what he can do).

It’s time to make peony supports again! My yearly garden craft task. I neglected to cut the cornus last year so this year there are plenty of long whips to use. One side finished, just 20 more to do. Praying for another dry day🙏.

Yet another rainy day! I’m normally a cheerful, optimistic person but this incessant rain is sooo depressing. Finding it difficult to be creative, I decided to be destructive instead. In the corner of the studio there’s a pile of paintings that didn’t work, so since I had some spare canvas and need a couple of larger canvases, I set to work! It can be very satisfying putting a knife through failed work😂. Cheered me up no end! Took a while to remove all the staples but now I have 2 new canvases all primed and ready to go, even made a start on one. How have you coped with all this grey weather? Any tips to cheer us up?

All day it was like this!! Thank goodness I planted that bowl of primulas - a splash of colour in all that grey 😅.

I bought a special tin to make mini victoria sponges. This is the result, not exactly the right shape on top - looks more like a fairy cake or perhaps a muffin? Anyway, I still filled it with Jam and cream!😋

Naughty but nice? 😋 Enjoying pen and ink for a change.
