Burnby Hall Gardens

Burnby Hall Gardens Burnby Hall Gardens and Museum Burnby Hall Gardens and Museum are situated in Pocklington on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Originally the estate of adventurer and philanthropist Major Percy Stewart and his wife Katharine, the 9 acres of land, comprising 2 lakes and a National Collection of over 100 varieties of Hardy Water Lily, were left in trust on his death in 1962.

The Gardens are a haven of tranquillity, and the Stewart Museum houses several exhibits of UNESCO standard. Children's events, outside theatre and band concerts are held during the spring and summer months. See www.burnbyhallgardens.com for full details.

Our Walled Garden Project Begins Monday 1st November... :)
.
November 2021 sees the commencement of an exciting new large-scale project at Burnby Hall Gardens, which involves the removal of the existing Victorian-style garden and its replacement with a newly designed walled garden.
.
The work will run through the winter months and will see the creation of concentric bricked-edged paths alongside an extensive re-development of the planting areas which will be enhanced by the existing 7’ walls around the site.
.
The spring of 2022 then sees the planting of the new garden by specially recruited volunteers with completion of the project anticipated in May.
.
This means that the Victorian Garden will be closed off from Monday 1st November to allow for work to commence. We apologise for any inconvenience caused over this period.
