Trade Gallery

Trade Gallery Trade - Exhibitions, Events and Interviews. www.tradegallery.org Trade is dedicated to profiling the work of exceptional artists.

Its flexible and adaptable programme of exhibitions, events and Interviews, imports artists, organisations and ideas and responds to the needs of artists. The programme pays particular attention to performative, social, collaborative and collective artworks. In addition, the programme provides opportunities to engage and reconsider the importance of historical artists’ film and video in relation t

o the current social, political and artistic climate. Trade’s aim is to become a viable alternative to the exhibition programmes offered by mainstream galleries and become a publicly accessible alternative to under-the-radar artist run activity. Positioned between the two, Trade differentiates itself from existing cultural provision by profiling both the new and the established. Trade opening times vary from exhibition to exhibition, please check the front page of www.tradegallery.org, for updates, alternatively join our mailing list, Twitter or Facebook group

This solo exhibition layers video, installation, performance, sculpture, and text-works – providing the most comprehensive presentation of the artist’s work in the UK to date.
Divid̶e̶d̶nation alludes to the practice of divination (that is, to look into the future), using art works to make sense of the UK’s present socio-political climate. The title blends words, acronyms and text-speak to reference the tremulous times we find ourselves in: on a knife-edge, and surrounded by uncertainty that threatens our collective future. Exhibited across Primary’s galleries different strands of Achiampong’s work will interact, offering insights and challenging these concerns.
