ARMOURFEST 2021 15TH August

Great news! We have finally set the date for Armourfest 2021!

We will be open to the public on Sunday 15th of August with a full arena display, 10am to 5pm. Deborah II will be back in the arena along with our main battle tanks, BV rides as well as much, much more. We have new displays for this year and we will also be welcoming back our regular, incredible re-enactors and military enthusiasts. Pitches for re-enactors and enthusiasts with vehicles available for the weekend. Please contact us for booking-in forms.

Armourfest Tickets will be on sale to the public shortly - details to follow.

Only 4 days to go until Armourfest 2019!! We've got some extra special exhibits this year, a World War I trench, Kingdom Forge doing their thing with a hot forge, the Car Crush and some amazing living history groups. But, enough of all that, here's our Arena Schedule 2019 with all the tank action!

3 days to go! We open the 12th of April

Today’s photos show what our volunteers have achieved over the last couple of days.
Concrete pathway laid, the floor has been levelled and 10 ton of stone raked out over the top Well done to all involved it looks fantastic!

Today’s pictures show some detailing work carried out to Deborah 2 our WW1 MK4 tank.

The 5 replica lewis machines fitted to Deborah have always lacked the finer details, this winter we fixed this!
First we started by stripping them, the metal work was then sent away for sandblasting. The woodwork stripped, sanded an then restrained. Brass ID plates fitted followed by machining an oil bottle into the stocks as per an original.
Once the metal work was sand blasted this was then “blacked” using used motor oil, the once gun metal gray paint just didn’t look right.
Once reassembled we fitted sling swivels followed by a light coating of gun oil.

If you have not arrived yet, a few things to consider...the walk from the car park is NOT 5 mins as told to us by the parking attendant (maybe at a forced march!) it is at least 15mins so take the trailer if you have any difficulties/safety issues walking.
Bring a flask of tea...I've now been stood in the queue for a cuppa for half an hour and I am still no closer to the front of the queue!!
More facilitites need and clearer information for those of us with disabilities but not necessarily own a blue badge!

Edit..BRING FOOD! The facilities for food are minimal and the wait extremely long (an hour and still not been served), poor planning for the amount of visitors 🙄
This Sunday a spectacular show of moving military might is happening in South Norfolk. Don't miss Armourfest August 2021 at the Norfolk Tank Museum, with battle tanks, armoured vehicles, re-enactors, exhibitors, big band music, arena events, refreshments and more.
I maybe at the Norfolk Tank Museum this Saturday gathering information on British armour at this years Armourfest 11th-12th August 2018 event, if you see me remember it's a Sekretz.
