Thanks to everyone who came to the TSM artists’ tour and PV of ‘Rebalancing the Abstract’ The Margate School of Art yesterday.

We had some insightful comments and observations from the participants in the tour and it was great to welcome old friends and people we hadn’t met before to the PV and have lively conversations about the sculpture and painting.

Meet the Tutors // Lisa Hawkins

Lisa is an oil painter creating lively and vigorous works, predominantly focusing on landscape and the abstraction of colour. She prefers to work from drawings and memory, treating painting as a meditative process where titles often reflect influences from music, poetry, or prose. Now based in Kent, Lisa explores the genius loci or ‘spirit of place’ of the countryside and sea shore.

Lisa has been teaching painting at the School since January, and her third term of painting short courses starts on 10 October.
