Ah, this year has finally come to an end. What a challenging yet exciting year it has been for us!
We officially began operating as a Community Interest Company in March, and since then, we've achieved so much. From hosting remarkable exhibitions by talented artists to delivering a neighbourhood-wide festival and officially opening our orchard garden, 2024 has been unforgettable.
Image 1: Exhibition - I AM FROM REYKJAVIK
Launch night of the exhibition by Sonia Hughes () and Solomon Hughes (.b.hughes), centred on the themes of race, claiming space, and belonging.

Image 2: Official Opening of the Orchard Garden
This project is incredibly close to our hearts. What was once an old bowling green has been transformed into a thriving garden with fruits, herbs, trees, and seasonal plants. The local community has been instrumental in this transformation, supporting us through rain and shine, from mowing the grass to nurturing the plants.
Image 3: Our Longsight Festival '24
This was our first time organising a festival of this scale, and it was both challenging and rewarding. Longsight doesn’t see many large-scale events like this, but community organisations worked tirelessly to create a space for locals to come together. This collective idea became a reality thanks to the support of local organisations and Arts Council England (), who believed in our vision.

Launch night of the exhibition was led by Hathaikan Kongauwruam () and curated by Anne Louise (.kershaw), dedicated to Kongauwruam’s parents’ restaurant. This artistic reinterpretation transformed Longsight Community Art Space into a place of communion, community, ritual, and play. What an incredible experience!

These workshops, led by Nadia Sultana (.fusionz) and Rizwana Farooq (), brought joy to our residents. Participants got into the world of truck art, and creating pieces from scratch.
